Thanks for playing. Like mentioned earlier, anything from "The Bends" is a definite YES!

Flaming Lips - Do You Realize??
(Nov 07, 2003 - 13:50)
LOVE THIS SONG!

Hokey or not, it is provocative.

And the exposure via the VH1 commercial is great for the F Lips.

All hail the stuffed bunnies!

Morrissey - That's Entertainment
(Nov 07, 2003 - 13:48)
I loved the song when first done by The Jam.

Hadn't heard Morrissey's version. I like it, too. Different.

I used to think the same thing! Hilarious!

Philip Glass - Opening

Nice guitar work.

Radiohead - Sail To The Moon

Heard this live in Atlanta this past Monday night. So lovely yet haunting. The simplicity of the melody, his voice, the way it builds. A wonderful song. Thanks for playing it!

Thanks! It was driving me crazy! "Hmmm, which Disney flick is this from?"
I couldn't get anything done at work til this conundrum was cleared.

Jesse Cook - Fall at Your Feet (w/ Danny Wilde)
(Sep 29, 2003 - 11:30)

Björk - Hidden Place
(Sep 29, 2003 - 09:25)
This is a great song and interesting album. Did anyone see her on HBO "Reverb" performing this album live in NYC? Mesmerizing. All done with a music box contraption, a few laptops, a harpist, and a chorus of Icelandic ladies.

She is an acquired taste. Keep on playing Bjork!

Robyn Hitchcock & The Egyptians - Madonna of the Wasps
(Sep 26, 2003 - 11:06)
This is why I love rp. So many tunes from the past 10-20 yrs. that come back and bring great memories. Love Robyn. Hadn't thought to play him in years.

The Pixies are one of my favorite groups! Although I do like the Surfer Rosa album better than Doolittle... Can't wait to see what they do now that the band is back together!

Word to Bid-Bird

Holy cow! Is this true? I can't wait! Pixies were/are amazing!

Björk - Big Time Sensuality
(Sep 25, 2003 - 08:25)
OK, I'll go out on a limb here: I like Bjork. This is a fun dance tune.

Yes, she is a bit grating on the nerves vocally. But it is the rhythms and intricacies of her work that are interesting. "Verspertine" is a great example.

So, don't shoot the messenger (*ducks down as the tomatoes fly*)

Erik Satie - Gnossienne No1
(Sep 25, 2003 - 07:15)
Nice mix with the alternative music. Great choice of Satie, too!

Reminds me of the movie "Being There" . . .
Radiohead - There There

Try to find the This Mortal Coil records. She is amazing on the first one!

Siouxsie & the Banshees - Cities In Dust
(Sep 23, 2003 - 07:43)

Play more Siouxie! Even better if w/Robert Smith...
