I don't know what's going on here, but all this old Floyd over the last 3-4 days has been awesome.

You're right, they have been awesome...but try 3-4 decades....

Luna - California (All the Way)
(Mar 16, 2009 - 17:29)
Ha!  Those are the "marsh sounds" in the background that Bill was just talking about.  Subtle stuff going on with RP....

Bruce Lash - Lithium
(Jan 12, 2009 - 16:56)
gotta appreciate Bill's sense of humor on this one...but my teeth are hurting now.  please.  stop.

Ani Difranco - 32 Flavors
(Nov 23, 2008 - 10:44)

YES! I much prefer the Alana Davis version, which was the 1st version of this song I had ever heard. This Ani one absolutely pales in comparison for me now.

Maybe if the situation were reversed, I'd feel that the AD version had sucked the "authenticity" out of the AdF one or something.

Okay, I'll check the Alana Davis one out, but c'mon, really as good as Ani?  It'll be an astounding song if so...

Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton - Crowd Surf Off A Cliff
(Nov 06, 2008 - 09:53)
does emily haines have any relation to metric?  i hear the same voice...

Cloud Cult - Journey Of The Featherless

Modest Mouse mashed up with Bright Eyes?

I looked at the forum to see if anyone else heard Bright Eyes in this...guess so.  Bunch of haters out there as well, as usual.  At least Bill has good taste in music.

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
(Jul 01, 2008 - 13:04)
Which is why I LOVE RP! From classic rock to classic rock....
Sinéad O'Connor - Black Boys On Mopeds
(Dec 02, 2007 - 20:38)
Falling (Twin Peaks) --> to Sinead segue....indescribably brilliant. Thanks RP!
Miles Davis - Nature Boy
(Nov 11, 2007 - 13:50)
Wow. And then you hear something like this and you realize there's still so much more music out there to enjoy.
Sarah McLachlan - Ice (Live)
(Jul 21, 2007 - 18:46)
seriously, sometimes it's just annoying to see so much negativity - music snobs leave too many posts
Gomez - Machismo
(Jun 12, 2007 - 16:16)
Gomez?!?!?!?!
Whoa, I thought I'd heard the breadth of Gomez, and then something wild like this pops up.
I gotta get this album!

Rodrigo y Gabriela - Stairway to Heaven
(Jun 07, 2007 - 14:35)
Wow, this is bold, but really good.
Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - Two Step (alternate version)
(Jan 27, 2007 - 19:05)
You know, I just can't help but like Dave, especially if not over-played (and really, it's not anymore). Good to hear on RP, no matter the haters' opinions.
Eagles - Seven Bridges Road
(Jan 27, 2007 - 06:15)
Not usually a big Eagles fan, had to check & see that this was really them cause I'm diggin' it.

The Be Good Tanyas - When Doves Cry
(Jan 10, 2007 - 15:51)
I did actually enjoy it, Bill, didn't know they had a new album so had to go get it! This particular song likely won't be a favorite, but definately not a 1!
Bob Marley - No Woman, No Cry
(Jan 06, 2007 - 07:23)
I think this may be the best song, ever. Ever. "No woman, no cry"....I've found three meanings to that very phrase itself, and I'm sure there are more. Even the many covers of this song, though not as good as Bob, are worth finding and listening to.
U2 - Running to Stand Still

Perhaps the greatest song I've ever heard. It became my favorite song at age 13. I've loved it ever since.

AMEN
Allman Brothers - Stormy Monday

Bill, you are my hero. I'm going to my library and putting this song on repeat. Seriously man, you've made my day.
Tom Waits - Long Way Home
(Oct 14, 2006 - 08:38)
This and the previous Ani Difranco song, As Is, are such good compliments to each other. Don't know why, they just are.
The Wailin' Jennys - Devil's Paintbrush Road
(Oct 14, 2006 - 06:05)
Why so many haters on RP??

(Sep 28, 2006 - 17:02)

Gomez - Rhythm & Blues Alibi

RP needs more than one DJ. Bill's love affair with Gomez is too apparent.

Thankfully many of us are having the same love affair. Best DJ/radio anywhere, one DJ or not!

The Postal Service - Such Great Heights
(Aug 11, 2006 - 14:10)
Man, all ya'll are haters. It's been awhile since I've heard this version and I forgot how much better I liked it than Iron & Wine's...
New Order - True Faith
(Aug 07, 2006 - 17:41)
Anyone know if this band has any relation to Pet Shop Boys? Besides sounding a lot alike?
Gomez - All Too Much
(Jul 17, 2006 - 18:31)
This isn't my favorite song on the album, but it's good to hear something different from the album being represented....I cannot get tired of these guys, though. Just too good.

Eddie From Ohio - Number Six Driver
(May 05, 2006 - 05:15)

The Smashing Pumpkins - Set the Ray To Jerry

cool.
Gomez - Hamoa Beach
(Apr 29, 2006 - 14:11)
it is absolutely KILLING me waiting for this new album and hearing all these songs on RP (please don't stop though!)

Southern Culture On The Skids - Fried Chicken And Gasoline
(Apr 25, 2006 - 19:00)
At their shows, for this song the band has girls from the audience come up and throw fried chicken into the crowd. What a fun, messy addition to a great show.
Badly Drawn Boy - Logic Of A Friend
(Apr 19, 2006 - 18:19)
wow, hadn't heard this one - and now I'm gonna go get it.
Patty Griffin - Rain
(Apr 18, 2006 - 17:08)
Sometimes you hear a song at exactly the right time...this is a good song for that. Thanks Bill.

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians - A Hard Rain's a Gonna Fall
(Apr 18, 2006 - 05:45)
I've definately heard some great Dylan covers, so I know I'm not a purist...but this does just kinda feel wrong!
Everything but the Girl - The Only Living Boy in New York
(Apr 17, 2006 - 19:21)
I don't get this band....is there anything original to EBTG??
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Over And Over Again (Lost and Again)
(Apr 15, 2006 - 06:17)
not my favorite song on RP, but not as bad as ya'll are going on about! (it does kinda sound like David Byrne, doesn't it?!)
Beth Orton - Pieces of Sky
(Apr 10, 2006 - 19:24)
artmaven wrote:
This CD sits in my car awaiting its first listen. I'll reserve judgement on this for now. But that was an awesome segue from Moonlight Sonata. Orton's first notes cried out for it. Didn't it end the same way? Does the segue work the other way 'round, Orton into Beethoven?

I love a good segue.

I gotta second that - this is just one reason why I love RP.
Gomez - Notice
(Apr 04, 2006 - 15:29)
I'm impressed. Shows diversity, cause this sounds entirely different from previous Gomez
Grateful Dead - Ripple
(Feb 25, 2006 - 11:44)
By far one of the best GD songs, and that's saying a lot. Nostalgia doesn't even begin to cover it...
Zwan - Friends as Lovers
(Feb 16, 2006 - 18:30)
My first post, and just to defend this song! It's played all the time, and get's way to much criticism from ya'll. I wish I could actually find it to download somewhere...
