Mavericks - Dance the Night Away
(Oct 13, 2011 - 11:50) | Yea! Mavericks!! This is fun music but it does take a little effort to get into the groove. At first listen, it may strike you as odd music. But listen a few more times and let your body go!
This album is good but Music For All Occasions is probably their defining work. I've seen them twice and really had fun each time because it's a high energy show and I enjoy Raul's voice.

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Paper Airplane
(Jul 01, 2011 - 16:20) | Saw them last week at the Greek Theater in Berkeley CA. They were great, sound even better live. Dummy me didn't realize Jerry Douglas on the Dobro was part of this band. I became acquainted with him from his solo track played on RP. He adds soo much to the band, he's the star of the show after Alison.

The Wailin' Jennys - What Has Been Done
(Jun 22, 2011 - 15:43) | Introduced to me on RP. Just saw them last night at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, CA. Very nice show, just as pretty and pure as the CD tracks. They are all songwriters with about equal contribution to the live show. A few songs from other writers but most of their work is home grown.
