You were a child reaching out brave and true
For big things in the next room
And I couldn't step into such open sky
Where on the crest of uncertainty you loom
I'm learning to hunt for you
Say that you'll never run too far away
Even with all the answers out there
Where it's brighter but no one will care
Half as much as I care about you
I'm learning to hunt for you

Dullest. Drummer. Ever.

Alan John Wren (born on 10 April 1964, in Manchester, England), better known as Reni, was the drummer of The Stone Roses from 1984 to 1995.

Reni is considered by many to be the best drummer of his generation, and the "single most important drummer in UK indie circles" (Rhythm, 2004), and according to former Hacienda General Manager Howard Jones he, ""played the drums like Hendrix played the guitar." His laid-back style of off-beat rhythms was influential in bringing about the blend of indie and dance music (ibid) that formed much of the Manchester (or Madchester) sound of the day.

Filter - Take A Picture
(Oct 31, 2007 - 11:50)
Quoted from another site; "the lead singer is afraid of flying. To calm him down one night the band got him wasted on the flight. He started dancing around and taking off his clothes acting like an idiot. One of the band members started taking pictures so he would remember what he'd done in the morning. The part where he says "hey dad, what d'ya think about your son now" refers to the fact that the band mailed the nude photos to the lead singers parents as a joke. The song was just a tribute to a fun spirited memory. (found this out at a Filter concert)"

So you'd sing a lullaby to get me to sleep
So it's no surprise my eyes are never heavy
For i've not seen you in the flesh for so long
That i'm not sure we would know each other at all

Oh the weight it must be light wherever you are
And i know you don't think twice wherever you are
Oh the weight it must be light wherever you are
And i know you don't think twice wherever you are

So i will hum alone, too far from you
All that i say now is nothing to you
We will lie under different stars
I am where i am and you're where you are, you're where you are.

Oh the weight it must be light wherever you are
And i know you don' t think twice wherever you are
And i'd ask if you're all right wherever you are
And do you think of me, you might, wherever you are.

I thought so too at first, but looks like we are all off a bit...they are married with children

From WIKI;
Everything but the Girl (EBTG) are an English two-person band formed in Hull in 1982.

The band's members are:

* Lead singer and sometime-guitarist Tracey Thorn (born September 26, 1962)
* Guitarist, keyboardist & vocalist Ben Watt (born December 6, 1962).

Watt and Thorn are also a couple; they are intensely private about their relationship and personal life. It was not a publicized fact for some time that they were a couple, or that they had subsequently married. <1> The duo have a strong desire to raise their three children outside of the spotlight.

Radiohead - High and Dry
(Oct 03, 2007 - 10:37)
New album comes out soon and I heard a rumor on left of center Sirius satellite ch 24 that you can "pay what you want" to download it. anyone else heard this?

EDIT:

Well I found the skinny at Wikipedia:
Release and distribution
On October 1, 2007 Radiohead announced via their blog the title, track list, and release dates of their seventh studio album, In Rainbows. At the time of its release, the band will not be in a contract with any record label. The album will be available exclusively as a digital download from inrainbows.com on October 10, 2007. The download version includes the 10 tracks that make up the album. It is reported that a standard CD version of the album is to be released in early 2008.<13> A special "discbox" will be released on December 3, 2007, and will contain the physical album on both CD and two 12" heavyweight vinyl records with artwork and lyric booklets. The discbox will also include a bonus Enhanced CD which contains 8 bonus tracks, as well as digital photos and artwork. The overall set will be packaged in a hardcover book and slipcase. The band are, however, planning a CD release of the album for early 2008.<14>

While the discbox is priced at £40 (which includes the digital download), the price of download by itself is left up to the buyer. Upon purchase, the buyer is prompted to type their desired price (plus a transaction fee of 45 pence if purchased for more than £0.00).<15>

(Sep 28, 2007 - 09:29)
He's rippin it up... found this about him;

Although Landreth is an extremely competent guitarist in the conventional form, it is his slide playing that he is most well known. He has developed a technique where he also frets notes and plays chords and chord fragments "behind" the slide while he is playing. He has managed to perfect this form of playing like no other. Many a well known guitarist have left his shows in bemused disbelief. Landreth plays with the slide on his little finger as most slide players do.

Very creepy and effective organ synth. Cam you imagine what it would sound like with a Mellotron (if there were any of them working today).

I believe there are some still lingering around; Found this on Wiki-P;

The Mellotron experienced a revival of sorts in the 1990s. A variety of bands began using the instrument, including You Am I, Marillion, The Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Barenaked Ladies, Incubus, Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Grandaddy, Tom Waits, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, radio massacre international, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Air, Opeth, No-Man and Waterclime. On Porcupine Tree's 2005 album Deadwing, track six is titled "Mellotron Scratch" and includes lyrics about the sound of a Mellotron causing a woman to cry. Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson prominently used the haunting choral mellotron sounds on No-Man's 2003 album Together We're Stranger. In late '89/'90, R.E.M. laid down those mysterious sounding cello parts that are so prevalent in the cut "Losing My Religion", using the Mellotron.
