Luna - Beautiful View (Dec 06, 2011 - 13:06) | lol !! Byronape wrote: Ummm... the only people that speak Klingon are actors who have to learn it for their Star Trek role and sweaty nerds with no need of female companionship. I'd call that a waste of time.

Tracy Chapman - Heaven's Here on Earth (Dec 30, 2010 - 20:46) | a few months ago i came across a way of thinking that suggests the present moment is all we ever have , no past, no future , that our perception of our surroundings is clouded by one of our best assets and our worst enemy , our mind. Being present in the moment is often hidden from us as we worry about the past and future ,,, and if you can stop you mind from thinking ,,,, heaven is here , right now , that we are all connected ,, little bits of consciousness manifested.
if you find this way of thinking at all curious you hear many artists speak sing of this and for me that fills my being with joy

John Lennon - Imagine (Jul 03, 2010 - 06:55) | it is a wonderful possibly prophetic song that you could go on and on about ,,,,, I have read and seen a few philosophies that espouse this same message ,,, zeitgeist and it's addendum ,,,, an ecology of hope ,,,,,,, even a priest Ivan Illich. Technology has made the world small ,,,, it is time to live together in harmony and evolve. slippery wrote: Or is he is referring to the goal, and not the ways and means? The state of mind where you are so fulfilled that you neither need or want anything more. This state is by definition impossible in a capitalistic world.
Whether you are a marxist or not I assume you once or twice have pondered how many problems that has derived from mankinds aimless hunger for more physical belongings? I, like you, don't think a prohibition of the right to own is any answer. But maybe, for your own sake, it isn't such a bad idea to stop for a second and think: Do I really need all this to feel satisfied? Or are there something else missing? Maybe I'm chasing the wrong rabbit.
Perhaps you can relate to what I'm saying. If not, think about it, and I hope you someday will see my point. Life is so much easier and more rewarding when you know you're not running in the wrong direction.
And I am not even going to get in to the religion bit. If it isn't obvious to you how much misery religion have led to, is leading to and always will lead to - I'm not sure I can help you with that.

Talking Heads - What A Day That Was (Jun 15, 2010 - 20:37) | well said Marcuse
I am guilty of begging Bill not to play the odd song ,,,,,,,,,, I still listen because of the no commercials thing ,,, and incredible stuff you do hear ,,,,,,,,,, sure there are stretches where I tune out mentally ,,,,,,,, but no commercials ,, thank you supporters and BILL !
On Breaking Bad season ender Gail sings a quick little Spanish tune that was just freaky good before he gets interrupted ,,,, don't read further if you do not want me to spoil what happens,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and gets his brains blown out by Jesse. Talk about 180 degree turn of events.
Marcuse wrote:This "dialog" has prompted me to write my first comment ever. I like the range of music so much that I have spent way too much money on iTunes and I don't even bother to rate tunes. New discoveries are commonplace. I also have watched civility in the comment section decline markedly over the last year or two, and have wondered why so many people feel the need to bash artists they don't happen to like. And then get into Insult Olympics with other listeners who disagree with their opinions. It has turned the comment section into a smelly pit of machismo unfortunately, everybody puttin' up their dukes and slamming each other as best as they possibly can - the angrier the better. One of the great things about RP, which others have repeatedly stated is that there is a great range of musical styles. Odds are that we don't like everything we hear, right? So, uh, so what? Is it that compelling to get on the keyboard and send out that intense hate? Is it really that satisfying? Must be. Quite the playpen of insecurity and a sad need for validation. The contrast of this behavior with the wonderful musical offerings is stark. Oh, and Bill? Thanks for playing Talking Heads, David Byrne, and REM. All great bands/artists IMHO. (And comically predictable magnets for the wrath of the hate posters.) I brace for the onslaught while I climb back out of the pit.

I have trashed a few songs played here , but I like this one . sounds like bare naked ladies , it just flows so well ,, I like the simpleness of it ,,, no big airs or " look at how intellectually moody I can be " crap ,,,,,,,,,,, many of the best songs are not complicated full of wasted noise or pretense ,,,,,,, so get a grip ! lol
