she's come a long way, gone thru a lot of changes, but she's always been brilliant. apparently, she was in the studio, and someone walked past and, hearing her sing, commented that he couldn't understand a word she was singing, but, man, it was some beautiful.

Rickie is a perfectionist, saw her last weekend at SF Jazz. She didn't quite like what her band was doing to a number and made them play it from the start. Love her!

Her second album "Pirates" was her high-water mark, IMO.
Check it out if you haven't. If you don't like it, then she's probably not your cuppa tea.
