![]() Waiting For The Night (1993) [ larger cover art ] |
Tuesday morning,
Never looked so good.
I'm already in,
In a daydream.
The sun is shining,
To wake me up.
No one around,
Just me and the sky.
I'm already in,
In a daydream.
I'm already in,
In a daydream.
The sky is calling,
Calling out my name.
Telling me just to stay,
Stay and don't go away.
I'm already in,
In a daydream.
I'm already in,
In a daydream.
In a daydream...
In a daydream...
In a daydream...
Already in a daydream...

Thanks for the bit of time travel! :) takes me back to a very specific weekend - living in jackson hole, wyoming at the time (mid-90's). my friend scott and i took a weekend fly-fishing/camping trip up into yellowstone, and i had forgotten my box of tapes at the house. freddy jones was the only tape in the car, and due to no radio reception, the only music we listened to all weekend. good times man, good times! |
| ziakut (Slightly North of Obvlivion) | Posted: May 17, 2013 - 06:24 Was bland then and still bland now. Guitar delay trick is the only thing that keeps me interested. |
| BKardon (Louisville, CO) | Posted: Mar 15, 2013 - 12:37 This blew me away hearing it in regular rotation on 'XRT back in the day. I got to see them perform this at the base of the gondola in Steamboat Springs, CO a few years back, great time. |

| rabaak | Posted: Mar 15, 2013 - 12:24 I remember this whole album as being pretty good. I played it pretty hard in the late 90's. |
| rdo (DC) | Posted: Feb 10, 2013 - 08:12 Interesting how 3 versions of this song are on RP, but none in the playlist. I think this is a great classic song. How could anyone not like this? It's brilliant. |
| SirLars (London, ON) | Posted: Oct 25, 2010 - 08:32 first listen.... sounds alot like moe. - the guitar especially |

| LPCity (Salt Lake City, Utah) | Posted: Sep 23, 2010 - 16:28 Love the bright sound to this song, both the guitar and the melody. |
| Peace_tode (Atlanta) | Posted: Jul 21, 2010 - 16:54 very enjoyable tune |

| rdo (DC) | Posted: Jul 21, 2010 - 16:49 This song is incredible. One of the best. |
| NatureLover | Posted: Apr 17, 2010 - 06:41 The solo reminds me of the background music in Metroid on the original NES |

| rabaak | Posted: Dec 12, 2009 - 06:29 What happened to these guys. This was a really good album. Refreshingly different at the time. Where did they go? |
| coffee-eyes (Right outside of Boston) | Posted: Dec 12, 2009 - 06:28 Love this one. |
| OmegaConcern (Sunrise, FL) | Posted: Jul 07, 2009 - 15:31 Great to hear this again! This was on heavy rotation when I was a college jock (89.1, WONC!). Used to crank it up in the booth! |
| cayenne (in over my head) | Posted: Apr 03, 2009 - 14:15 I always think this is Monte Montgomery. |

| treatment_bound (Duluth to Madison) | Posted: Nov 19, 2008 - 08:27 abaucom wrote: Could it sound anymore like the Boomtown Rats The answer is...Yes! Yes, they could sound more like the Boomtown Rats. Where's the "Clemons-esque" sax featured on several Rats' tunes? Where's the smirking Geldof-like vocals? Here's the description of FJB on allmusic.com: >>The Freddy Jones Band are roots-rock specialists in the tradition of groups like Little Feat, the Dave Matthews Band and the Allman Brothers Band. Having grown up in Chicago, the group has no particular aversion to blues, and much of their sound could be described as solid blues rock.<< The next time you here "Rat Trap" or "Joey's on the Street Again", I doubt you'll be thinking of this cut. |

| Randomax (Wimberley, TX) | Posted: Nov 19, 2008 - 08:07 Why did I always think this was Darden Smith? Did he do a cover? Say - how 'bout some Darden? |

| Excelsior | Posted: Jun 14, 2008 - 11:14 Boring and generic. I feel like I'm in a dentist's waiting room. |

| jdorn1 (Land o' Milk & Cheese) | Posted: Mar 27, 2007 - 08:54 Just got to see these guys live recently! They're back together after a long hiautus and they put on a FANTASTIC show. Just as tight as the sound here. It was a small venue and the $10 tickets was nice too. |
| electronicshaman (miskatonic) | Posted: Mar 11, 2007 - 19:00 the very beginning of this track had me sweating... I thought it was that Eminem song... so glad I was wrong |

| MojoJojo (Indianapolis, IN USA) | Posted: Jan 10, 2007 - 08:31 This is somewhat ironic or timely I finally got around to snarfing my FJB CD into iToonz just this morning. It seems to me these guys have a lot of talent, but never delivered it consistently enough to live up to their full potential. They have a number of songs that are well done and quite inspired, yet they have a good number that cant climb out of the mediocre pop category. Still, me loves me some FJB every now and again. I'd love to hear them live some time. |
| youngj (Canton, GA) | Posted: Jan 10, 2007 - 08:30 Sounds a lot like the Pat McGee Band. |
