God I hate this woman's nasal annoying posing voice. And her absolute wreckage of Cole Porter's "Let's Do It" in "De-Lovely" was an unforgivable crime against music.

I like this.  It broke at a time when I was intently listening to very lyric on every song on everything I heard, and it monotoned/iterated my feelings beautifully.

Guess you had to be there.

I'm pretty sure that this is the worst Alanis Morissette song in existence, and that's saying something.

In itself i don't think i really like it (not sure though {#Think} ), but it has such a distinctive sound and ring to it which immediately brings me back to a time things were so uncomplicated and nice. For that, i love hearing it...

I agree with the general sentiment, but marginal is probably not a fair word here. It may be more a case of lacking the self-knowledge to understand when the impulse to perform/compose something should be suppressed. And, there must be an army of enablers.

I think she's more than "marginally talented", but I don't personally care for most of her material.  This song's not bad...once in a while.

If she had sung this in French, I think the effect would be better, 'cause I would not understand her.  These lyrics are just terrible.  The song overall is not bad though.  8.

She is an original.  Got to see this tour.  Simply loved the show.  Tory Amos opened.

She's clearly talented, but once you hear that gimmick (present in every Alanis song), you cannot unhear it.

I've come to realise that for every talent one person sees, another sees a flaw...Enunciation is often, actually, very often, thought of as a good thing. Guess in your world it's not, so, I can see it would be problematic for you. I like to heare the words....I like the words as much as the tunes...

I like her voice.  She doesn't have the voice of an angel, or anything, but its quirkiness is what makes it appealing.  The non-perfection is really a part of the un-Diva movement of the 90s fem-folk scene.  The idea that female artists don't have to be bombshells or have the vocal chords of a god to be allowed to perform.

Yes, but if you write a good, quality song and then have your cat try to sing it, odds are most people will call that song horrible. It is a shame too because a good song never has a chance to be appreciated because the cat is not a very good singer. Just an analogy, but a relevant one methinks.{#Yes}

The cat would be a great singer if you'd stop being such a cheapskate and pay for some lessons.
