Awesome song though.

Interesting point of view. And I disagree. To me, this is one of the weaker songs Portishead made. There are many songs of theirs that I like tons better. A real pity is, there's none of the stellar live tracks - they played at their wonderfully taped Roseland Ballroom '97 gig (with live orchestra) - getting played on RP. Back then I watched that concert at a local cinema on a big screen, with a solid soundsystem - It brought (good) tears to my eyes: it is/was so effing awesome. They're totally underrepresented here.

Back in 1994 I was a DJ at a local public radio station. Big Band music every Saturday morning. One day the guy who played contemporary music on his show called in sick, and I volunteered to cover him. Played this song, and then announced on air that it was by a group called "Porti Shed," like a portable shed. Oops.

Yes they need to change up their Portishead selections and add more. Like the rest of this album.

Seems it's their only song!

I bet all our old girls here love this!

Who would not want to be a woman, when already an old girl?

Undoubtedly one of the finest live recordings I have.  She is scarily good at giving me the worst goosebumps.  My missus hates them, though, so it's headphones or the car....

This makes me think of the dozens of ways I've been trying to life my ratings in order to build RP-based playlists.  My musical life would definitely be less colorful had I not discovered this site!

Massive Attach?  Like one of those Facehugger Aliens?

I find it odd, but you can order a facehugger plush with wire arms so it will hold on to your head.  Creepy.
