Never tire of this song and the nice feeling it evokes. And it stands the test of time.

I just never get tired of hearing this....  dreamlike....   beautifully poetic....
My favorite line.....  so here's hoping you've faith in impossible schemes... that are born in the sigh of the wind blowing by...
sigh......

I was fornuate enough to visit Scotland in June 2012, and through curving dirt roads climbing steadily higher into the mountains and a treck over a river bed, I got to see Dun Ringall (one of my favorite Tull songs).  There's no much to it these days but it was a thrill none the less.

I could so easily agree, if it wasnt for "Songs from the Wood", "Minstral in the Gallery", "Stormwatch", "Crest of a Knave", "HeavyHorses", "Aqualung"............   so actually, I disagree.

Odd is the idea that the British Invasion never included this stand-up band.

Don't ask me why. But this song sounds just like it fits into the season of the year (in the northern hemisphere, I mean). And BTW: a few songs ago we had Monsters of Folk, and the sleeve image reminded me so much of this one.

Whoa, dude.  I wish I could remember - it was far out.

Seriously, there was a lot of good stuff in the late 60's - early 70's (a lot of crap too, but we try to remember only the good).
It's a Beautiful Day gets some play here; I don't know if I've heard any Canned Heat or NRPS, on RP, but the original poster might check into them as well if old Tull sounds good.

For my money the three-album sequence by Tull of  Stand Up, Benefit, and Aqualung is one of the monumental popular music accomplishments ever recorded.

One of the biggest benefits of listening to RP is that your musical tastes get stretched out considerably—even going back in time, which most of us likely don't expect to happen. I think a lot of is due to Bill's masterful segue and song-grouping skills: you wind up liking stuff you wouldn't normally give 5 seconds to just because you've bought into the musical groove. Sometimes I've bought songs I've heard on RP, listened to them and thought "Why did I buy this again?" Most of the time I come around.

Whether Bill can sway me towards liking anything by Lil' Wayne—well that would be sheer wizardry. (One site recommended "Tha Carter IV" to me; cute kid on the cover, but the "songs" were so bad I laughed and laughed.)

Wikipedia
Business activities

Anderson is a successful businessman away from the music industry, and he has owned several salmon farms. His Strathaird concern<6>, based on his estate on the Isle of Skye was worth £10.7 million in the late 1990s, when parts of it began to be sold off. He currently owns a group of companies which reported a gross profit of £1.8 million in 2004, when the Sunday Herald newspaper reported:

He and his wife Shona, the sole shareholders and directors, shared a £500,000 dividend and emoluments, excluding pension contributions, of £850,954. A modest pre-tax loss of £5,806 was booked for the year but the balance sheet shows shareholders' funds stand at £3.2m. Income included a payment of £209,517 following one of the rock group's regular checks on its flow of royalties."<7>
