Oddly, I believe the ad firm (Arnold Worldwide) responsible for the VW ad is actually based in Boston, not NYC, and that firm is owned by a French advertising firm.. |

Was very happy to find out while listening to RP. Unfortunately, Madison Avenue and the TV networks here love—love—to beat commercials to death, so I can understand why people got sick of the song. Fortunately, American ingenuity led to the TV remote (with a mute button, sirdroseph). The New York Times had this bit in the inventor's recent obituary: As Mr. Polley, by then 86, proudly told an interviewer in 2002: “The flush toilet may have been the most civilized invention ever devised, but the remote control is the next most important.
