I come down from the misty mountain
I got lost on the human highway
Take my head refreshing fountain
Take my eyes from what they've seen.
Take my head and change my mind
How could people get so unkind.
I come down from the crooked mansion
I went lookin' for the D.J.'s daughter
Since that day I heard it mentioned
That my name is on the line.
Now, my name is on the line
How could people get so unkind.
Now, my name is on the line
How could people get so unkind.
I come down from the misty mountain
I got lost on the human highway
Take my head refreshing fountain
Take my eyes from what they've seen.
Take my head and change my mind
How could people get so unkind.

However we define "it", I agree that it sounds great and certainly would enjoy hearing Radio Paradise Inc. playing more country/acoustic folk/feminine stuff. Like this crazy song that follow.... |

| Carl (The Summit City) | Posted: Mar 27, 2010 - 19:45 Thanks to RP, I'm slowly warming up to Neil Young, after many years of respect but intolerance. (The guys I work with have helped, as well.) |

| gatorade (Ocean Park, WA) | Posted: Jan 23, 2010 - 19:27 Nicolette Larson was one of my favorite back up vocalist w/Neil. She has a few very good solo albums as well. Neil is an 11. |

I loved her voice, she provided backing vocals for many artists during her career, most of the bands I enjoy. But to me, she seems to stand out on this album, and made a small hit with her own recording of Neil's "Lotta Love". She was taken too early at 45. Indeed .. Tylenol and Valium will do it to you every time. Her passing was a significant loss to the music community. |

| andrewimft | Posted: Mar 31, 2008 - 23:25 I wouldn't call Comes A Time one of Neil's country records, since most of the songs are more just acoustic folk tinged rather than country, though this song and a couple others do have a country flavor and some steel guitar twang. But I'd call it one of his best acoustic records, with a lot of pretty open chord songs and harmonies, and great songwriting. |
| LaurieinTucson (Tucson,AZ) | Posted: Feb 29, 2008 - 11:00 I never would have heard this if not for RP. Thank you. I have come to really love Neil Young. |
| Antigone (A house, in a valley, Virginia) | Posted: Feb 29, 2008 - 11:00 I think this is such a pretty song: the voices intertwining, the banjo and guitar, and the poetry. |

| suddenchad | Posted: Oct 26, 2007 - 18:58 Probably my most fondly remembered Neil Young albums. One of those records that takes me back to a very specific time in my life. By far my favorite of any of Neil's country/acoustic/whatever you want to label them recordings. |

| Cynaera (South of Neanderthal) | Posted: Sep 18, 2005 - 15:58 I'm thinking that in order to truly appreciate his "country" period, people would have to start from the beginning of his career and just trace it to the present. I'd be okay doing that, but it's not for everyone. So, taken individually, I'd say that "Human Highway" is not one of Mr. Young's best efforts. "Comes A Time," however, is. And now, listening to K.D. Lang's vapid, lackluster rendition of "Helpless," I have to change my mind. "Human Highway" runs circles around it. |
