| ThePoose (Ottawa, capital of Canada) | Posted: Jul 19, 2012 - 12:34 I second that comment: His work before the mid-1970s was gobsmacking. sirdroseph wrote: Actually I think this opinion is in the majority, I know I share it. | redtex (The Third Coast) | Posted: Jul 19, 2012 - 12:26 Opening song of the first concert I ever attended. Great then and still so. |

| gsrbubba | Posted: Apr 15, 2012 - 10:54 Totally forgot about this song. THANK YOU for playing it. Reminded me that is it simply one of the best songs of all times. Operatic in nature, rock at its heart. |

That person wasn't your friend, they were a predator. And you can't saddle a horse that won't stand still. You're well shed of them both. Let them see you laughing and enjoying life. They both know what the other one is. Selah. ![]() |

| Deadwing (Cincinnati OH) | Posted: Dec 10, 2011 - 11:16 One of my fav EJ songs. too. It's kind of perfect. |
| rulebritannia (NYC - Back in the USA!) | Posted: Dec 10, 2011 - 11:13 We maxed out on our primary contribution and wound up 6th row just right of center for the EJ Hillary Clinton Fund Raiser at Radio City Music Hall. EJ was slightly to the right so we had the best seats in the house. Hillary, Bill and Chelsea were in the center two rows behind us. He was King of Manhattan and an absolute mind blower. All solo and amazing. This is my fave EJ ever. Deadwing wrote: I have never had the chance to see the Queen of England in concert. He is one of the wonders of the world. ![]() |
| angelomisterioso (no longer secret location north texas) | Posted: Dec 10, 2011 - 11:11 Even my punk rocker death metal fan son likes this, maybe the only by Elton & Co. |

| Stratocaster (Bermuda) | Posted: Dec 07, 2011 - 14:08 I have seen EJ do this live probably 10 times (including when GYBR was on the charts), and he has knocked it out of the ballpark every time. Whenever this comes on, I run for my guitar....since around age 15, I've been able to play the guitar parts note-for-note. Only a fellow guitar player would understand this! |

Yeah, I am a dork. A purist dork. I'm starting to think that the only way we'll ever get to hear a complete song that hasn't been tampered with, remixed, or cut is to just convert the original vinyl to MP3. As soon as I know how to do that, I'ma start with the "A's" and end at the "Z's." (Note to self: Buy LOTS of memory-sticks.) This is so true. Even the early CDs were much truer to the original music intent than the hyper-compressed (dynamic range not file size) albums and mp3 of today. When a whisper is as loud as drum solo, we have a problem. |
| linzie | Posted: Jul 20, 2011 - 13:03 Davey Johnstone's guitar is what I most remember about this one! I echo the rest, I have no idea why this guy can't pump stuff out like this anymore?!! Gimme stuff like this and Mona Lisa and Mad Hatters anytime!!!! |
| cc_rider (Austin Texas. Y'all.) | Posted: Jul 20, 2011 - 13:02 I have to listen to this album every couple of months. This song is cranked up loud, then I can dial it back a bit. Still gets me, every time. |
