Look at the world through a rose tint lens
I get mine from a poison pen
I've got a negative attitude
And I don't mind
You want to paint the renaissance fair
I want to try to relate to your colourful hair
Is that a negative attitude?
Why be content with the sky
when there's higher to go?
Get off the floor
Help your self to some more
Because it's free to be you
And it's free to be me
and I know
Look at the girl on the bad hair day
Look very close, I think I like what she's trying to say
She's got a negative attitude
Why be content with the sky
when there's higher to go?
Get off the floor
You can dance if you're bored
Because it's free to be you
And it's free to be me
and I know
I heard it on my radio
You want to sleep in an Ono sack
We want to live in a prefab shack in New Hampshire
We've got a negative attitude
Why be content with the sky
when there's higher to go?
Get off the floor
Help your self to some more
Because it's free to be you
And it's free to be groovy, I know
I heard it on my radio

| meuks | Posted: Feb 25, 2012 - 17:11 Yes, I am a Deadhead that loves Paul Weller and Lloyd Cole....so it's been a great RP day for me starting with the Dead jam this am, Weller a few hours ago and now LC.....and now Jesse Sykes....cool....love RP.... |
| Nerubo (Denver, CO) | Posted: Nov 22, 2011 - 13:00 Not only is this a cool song, but searching for the lyrics on Google takes you straight to the official site, which doesn't play music at you without you asking, it just lists all the lyrics nicely in actual text for each album. Why is that such a hard concept for other artists/bands to grasp? I would much rather get it from the source rather than wade into a lyrics site armed with an Ad block program. They usually won't let me copy the lyrics (without workarounds) either. |
| handyrae (Zero Point Field) | Posted: Nov 22, 2011 - 12:51 Well no wonder this sounds like Lloyd Cole. ![]() |

| Cynaera (South of Neanderthal) | Posted: Aug 05, 2010 - 16:44 There are some songs that I'll listen to over and over, just because I like something about them. This is one of those songs. I don't know if it's the beat, the drums, the tune, the lyrics, or that fuzzy guitar - maybe it's a combination of all of them. Whatever it is, I like this song. And I don't think I've ever heard Lloyd Cole before. *ducking and running* |

| smackiepipe (Western North Carolina) | Posted: Jul 25, 2005 - 05:59 'Shocked and amazed' to hear Lloyd. One of my all-time favorite artists. Would love to hear more of his work on this station. 'Negative attitude' has a great upbeat crunchy riff. I really enjoy the consistancy of 'The Negatives' album. Suggest the station plays more of his work, like with the Commotions and from his first two solo albums. I can do without his 'Bad Vibes' album --never could warm up to it, but you can't go wrong with any of his other releases. |
| pme (Palo Alto, CA) | Posted: May 12, 2005 - 17:20 Excellent. Can't really go wrong with LC. |
