Lunatic fringe
I know you're out there
You're in hiding
And you hold your meetings
I can hear you coming
I know what you're after
We're wise to you this time (wise to you this time)
We won't let you kill the laughter
Lunatic fringe
In the twilight's last gleaming
But this is open season
But you won't get too far
'Cause you've got to blame someone
For your own confusion
We're on guard this time (on guard this time)
Against your final solution
We can hear you coming (we can hear you coming)
No, you're not going to win this time (not gonna win)
We can hear the footsteps (we can hear the footsteps)
Hey, out along the walkway (out along the walkway)
Lunatic fringe
We all know you're out there
Can you feel the resistance
Can you feel the thunder

| ivotaillefer | Posted: Nov 26, 2012 - 16:32 this is a political song, strong emotions. |
| ncollingridge (Knebworth, UK) | Posted: Sep 19, 2012 - 04:04 This isn't a song. It is a plodding beat with someone lazily playing some simplistic rhythm guitar over it. Even the vocalist doesn't really bother with a melody. Tedious and boring garbage. Sorry to be so tough but when there is so much great music around this has nothing going for it at all in my view. |
| RPJunkie | Posted: Jul 18, 2012 - 05:56 This takes me back to High School more than just about any song. I was a wrestler, and this was featured in the movie Vision Quest. Watched it about 1000 times. Good Times! m/ |
| boober (KC,Mo) | Posted: Jul 18, 2012 - 05:56 I remember the video sucked.Looked like it cost about $100 bucks to make. |

| hayward350 | Posted: May 15, 2012 - 21:20 A big smile across my face when this one came on - part of growing up in Toronto. Haven't heard for ages but I see it's been played a bit. Bill, dying to know how this gets on your radar and inspires you bring it back 30 years later! |

| ColdMiser (Out in the Cold) | Posted: Nov 07, 2011 - 10:55 I saw Todd Rundgren, of all people, do a cover of this during his Arena tour a few years ago, he somehow segwayed into "when the walls came down"...pretty good show. |
| daveesh (birthplace of the american revolution) | Posted: Nov 07, 2011 - 10:55 what a riot to hear this again! i was probably 15 the last time this song entered my ear canals. |

| Droidac (Blacklight District) | Posted: Jul 04, 2011 - 18:15 I remember hearing an interview with Tom Cochrane, and he was discussing this song. As they were recording it, he was considering changing the lyrics and title, as Tom thought that people wouldn't "get it", that no one would relate to a "lunatic fringe". Well, not just a day or two later, John Lennon was shot. After that, they decided that the "lunatic fringe" would be something that people could see out there in the world, and the lyrics and title stuck. I always thought that was an interesting bit of pop culture history. |
| Stranglersfan (Revelstoke, B.C.) | Posted: Jul 04, 2011 - 18:09 This is the worst thing I have heard all day. Not RP worthy! |

It's the first time I've ever heard it, but crapola FM stations this side of the Pond play a different selection of clichés and drivel to those your side, I suspect. It's no' bad, and plainly strongly influenced by Pink Floyd, but won't linger long in the memory. 6 from the Nottingham jury. |

| msymmes (Toronto, CA) | Posted: May 02, 2011 - 13:11 Thanks to Canadian Content rules for over-the-air broadcast stations we get to hear this junk constantly up here in the Great White North. Another good reason to listen to RP. Variety!!!!! |
