When the wind blows and the rain feels cold
With a head full of snow
With a head full of snow
In the window there's a face you know
Don't the nights pass slow
Don't the nights pass slow
The sound of strangers sending nothing to my mind
Just another mad mad day on the road
I am just living to be lying by your side
But I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road
Made a rag pile of my shiny clothes
Gonna warm my bones
Gonna warm my bones
I got silence on my radio
Let the air waves flow
Let the air waves flow
Oh I'm sleeping under strange strange skies
Just another mad mad day on the road
My dreams is fading down the railway line
I'm just about a moonlight mile down the road
I'm hiding sister and I'm dreaming
I'm riding down your moonlight mile
I'm hiding baby and I'm dreaming
I'm riding down your moonlight mile
I'm riding down you moonlight mile
Let it go now, come on up babe
Yeah, let it go now
Yeah, flow now baby
Yeah move on now yeah
Yeah, I'm coming home
Cause, I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road
Down the road, down the road
With a head full of snow
With a head full of snow

I have probably told this story before, but I am getting old and repetitive. Drives the wife and kids nuts.) My dad's repeated stories all my life, to the point that his wife and kids say, "Yes, dad, we've heard this before: joke #37." I can remember the mother of a friend saying that Sgt. Pepper was awful noise...and this was about '73-'74. Would love to know what kind of music her parents sneered at. You'd hope that adults would realize at this point that their opinions will eventually be regarded as ridiculously fossilized. |

| bigbobbybubba (San Francisco, CA) | Posted: Dec 23, 2012 - 17:34 I remember my soph year in HS, seeing the girls holding this album shot by Andy Warhol. Each time I hear this I take a time trip back to pimples and innocent times. Stones in my opinion are the best of my generation, Goats Head Soup one of my all time faves. |
| owchita (On the banks) | Posted: Nov 29, 2012 - 03:52 From PSD "19th Nervous Breakdown" followed by this - must be my lucky day! |
| capandjudy (Huntington, WV) | Posted: Nov 22, 2012 - 09:47 I watched "Crossfire Hurricane" on HBO a couple of nights ago. Usually documentaries about rock groups are tedious to watch but I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was some insightful comments by various members of the Stones off camera that shed light on various stages of the band. |
| treatment_bound (Duluth to Madison) | Posted: Nov 13, 2012 - 17:33 Remains awesome to this day-
remembering a nice time when Mick could still hold a decent note... |

One of my favorites is the post-card-sized 3-D image on the first Captain Beyond album. I had friends back then that would spend hours staring at the cover with headphones blasting Rhino's guitar and Bobby Caldwell's drums. Man, how did we survive that kind of activity? After my original got the grooves worn through to the other side (well, almost) I had to get a replacement that didn't have the 3-D, but cost more. My good LP now resides in the good cover. How did we survive that kind of activity? Well, a surplus of brain cells and the robust nature of our youthful bodies! But GOD it was fun wasn't it? Keep given' 'er Uncle Hud! |
