You never give me your money
You only give me your funny paper
and in the middle of negotiations
you break down
I never give you my number
I only give you my situation
and in the middle of investigation
I break down
Out of college, money spent
See no future, pay no rent
All the money's gone, nowhere to go
Any jobber got the sack
Monday morning, turning back
Yellow lorry slow, nowhere to go
But oh, that magic feeling, nowhere to go
Oh, that magic feeling
Nowhere to go
Nowhere to go
One sweet dream
Pick up the bags and get in the limousine
Soon we'll be away from here
Step on the gas and wipe that tear away
One sweet dream came true... today
Came true... today
Came true... today...yes it did
One two three four five six seven,
All good children go to Heaven
--
Here comes the Sun King.
Ev’rybody’s laughing
ev’rybody’s happy.
Here comes the Sun King.

Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park
Shaves in the dark trying to save paper
Sleeps in a hole in the road
Saving up to buy some clothes
Keeps a ten bob note up his nose
Such a mean old man
Such a mean old man
His sister Pam works in a shop
She never stops, she's a go-getter
Takes him out to look at the queen
Only place that he's ever been
Always shouts out something obscene
Such a dirty old man
Such a dirty old man
--
Well you should see Polythene Pam
She's so good-looking but she looks like a man
Well you should see her in drag dressed in her polythene bag
Yes you should see Polythene Pam
Yeah yeah yeah
Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt
She's killer-diller when she's dressed to the hilt
She's the kind of a girl that makes the news of the world
Yes you could say she was attractively built
Yeah yeah yeah
--
She came in through the bathroom window
Protected by a silver spoon
But now she sucks her thumb and wanders
By the banks of her own lagoon
Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me
She said she'd always been a dancer
She worked at 15 clubs a day
And though she thought I knew the answer
Well I knew but I could not say.
And so I quit the police department
And got myself a steady job
And though she tried her best to help me
She could steal but she could not rob.
Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me
Oh yeah.
--
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
--
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
I never give you my pillow
I only send you my invitations
And in the middle of the celebrations
I break down
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
--
Oh yeah, all right
Are you going to be in my dreams
Tonight?
Love You, Love You, (x15)
And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make.
You only give me your funny paper
and in the middle of negotiations
you break down
I never give you my number

Oddly, that implies if a majority of Rolling Stone readers prefer The Beatles to any punk music, then it's subjectively true that The Beatles are better than all the punk bands, at least amongst the vast readership RS. Sorry, just saying. The good news is that in your world, you can be king and proclaim that The Beatles blow and Punk is your anthem, and you'd be right amongst your tiny group of followers. |

| pianocomposer (Springfield) | Posted: Jul 22, 2012 - 04:20 This is like a mashup of original songs. Sheer genius to do this. And all the little mini-songs are good/great. About 4 years earlier, John complained that the Beatles didn't have enough time to write songs with their busy schedules. But this proves they caught up on writing new material. And once they knew the band would soon be finished, they put this together. |

| rotten | Posted: Jun 20, 2012 - 16:48 Punk was great and lasted many years, but this is great too. Punk wasn't a reaction to the Beatles, it was a reaction to the Yes's and Pink Floyd's of the world. I thought Paul and John added excellent song bits to side 2 of Abbey Road. stunix wrote: its called "side 2" and it was designed for a 20/25 minute capacity "long playing" record. i think its quite clever for a time where everything else was a 3 and a half minute single. punk technically lasted a year, I was there. everything "punky" that came after, Im afraid, it has missed the point. |
