Agreed... this disc was a soundtrack for me in the Summer of '78. 

Candy-O was released in the Summer of '79 making it a 70's disc as well.  The Cars were well on their way, perhaps having released their best material, when the 80's began.  It is easy to see, however, how they are associated with the New Wave of the early '80's.

Hawkes' sax solo propelled New Wave sax in ways that just wasn't being done. The whole album is great, but this Two-Fer was fantastic.

This is why I listen to RadioParadise (and support them).

in Middle and High School this was the only 8track that would play in the bus' player. it started every day at the same time so you could tell where you were on the route by what song was playing and how many times you had heard it.

I had a demo version of this Rick had made and misplaced it (think it was only on an IBM drive with click of death) but I found another version with Rick singing these two tunes run as one song.
Ben sounds much better (and why Rick had him singing these)

I was there.  I believe they played either 3 or 4 nights in a row.  I went twice.  I didn't think they were that great, but they were different compared to disco and the Dead.  They had little vocal power, although they sang on key.  They found and milked that formula, and I still think the first two LP's are superb, but after that?  Maybe 2-3 good songs.

I met a very exciting tall blonde there, only to find she was a fraud, but her best friend?  The love of my life I also met there - almost 35 years ago.

Not a huge fan of hearing more than one tune by the same band in a row...but at least it isn't JUST Pink Floyd that gets that honor. Glad to hear The Cars get their due. Nice to hear these tracks together.

i still have this album in vinyl and i've played this back to back with the mp3 version and they aren't even in the same ballpark. and, yes, like "heartbreaker" and "livin, lovin maid" this and "moving in stereo" should always be played together,
