Awesome song by an awesome band severely let down by lame arsed commentary.  Just digging out my copy of Dusk for the drive to work.  Great album as all The The albums are - already looking forward to Bluer than midnight

good tune and freaky video.  i remember an interview at the time said he wanted the sence of heat so he took a load of industrial halogen heaters in the studio and ending up getting a minor whipping when the glue holding his les paul melted and imploded!!!

Seems I couldn't hear the harp for all the noise made by the harmonica.

Hint - one fits to the mouth, the other is a bit bigger and is beloved of the Welsh.

Get it bl**dy right!

Right and a lorry is a truck and for some reason you go to the loo. All kinds of funny ticks on both sides of the pond. Harp here can be a harmonica or a harp. We are able to distinguish which is which when required. Good though that you got to listen like mad.

Indeed. The "mouth harp". If you're gonna be a blowhard, do some research.

Hey! The The! I'll never forget this one morning shortly after I've moved to the city, when I woke up to a really beautifully sunny day and the girl I was sleeping over at, had put "This is the day" (my life will surely change) on the record (!) player - introducing me to a great song of a great band and giving me a really memorable feeling...

I don't know how old you people are, but this is one of the best things to come out of the 90's.  You might consider playing the whole album side, since they do a very nice job with continuity. And the music is irreproachable.  That means good.

I love The The, and I love this song, but honestly, the harp playing is sucko-barfo on this one.  It's at about the same level as Alannis Morisette's harp playing.

No really, it's true, it's not like that bozo who complained about Beck's playing harp on a song.  What this guy's doing here is pretty amateur hour.   Honestly, it almost sounds like he sampled a few harp notes into a synthesizer and is repeating them.

But the song works overall anyway.

"I am the Walrus" with a harmonica.

(And any time you can get a walrus to play the harmonica, that's a hell of an accomplishment!)
