Absolutely adore this one Bill, BUT 5 plays in the last month makes it too repetitive for me  - particularly when there are so many other spectacular Crowded House / Finn Brothers ballads to play.  Thanks so much, but please rotate thru them all!  {#Cool}

Melody, musicianship, and exquisite vocals; all in all the perfect antidote the the Arcade Fire aural demolition cacophony that preceded it today.

Or better yet, show us that your opinion is worth paying attention to and write something insightful, knowledgable and inspiring about a song played here.  Put some actual thought into it - like, more than 5 seconds worth.  Put something of yourself into it that doesn't suck.  Prove to us that you're not as much of a wanker as you appear.  Can you?

I agree.  I love to hear the musicologists' and analysts' comments.   I rail on pedantry too, I admit it. There is a fine line, however, between arrogance and informed analysis.  We want informed analysis, we do not want arrogance.

Sorry...couldn't resist. Seriously, you seem to have a very deep knowledge of the "bizness" end of these things. I struggle, though, to understand some of these specific technical issues, panning and space, for instance...can you expand?

Mucho giggles.
It's easy really, panning is dissing something and/or steel drums as produced in Jamaica. Space is limited here, as in Vancouver parking spaces. I agree, let's stay with the grilled lamb, espcially if you can find it at Save-on-Meats.

Crowded House never got the respect they deserved in North America. They made some of the strongest, smartest, most lyrical music anywhere since the Beatles.
