Yeah. And? Is this an observation, or a reproach? Either way, somehow, "I love elite people" or "I shoot everyday people" doesn't quite have the same appeal.

Amazingly, the bass player seems to just be playing one note throughout the entire song.  And yet . . .

How does he do that??

I went to go see them back in '68 in Chicago at the Grant Park band shell along with Muddy Waters  but after Muddy Waters played they never showed up and a riot ensued. Muddy Waters was good anyways...

Propably. To me, this is one of the bands I hear critics raving about, so I put it on my "to discover" list only to find out I don't get what they're getting. Different folks for different strokes. Enjoy.

Thanks Bill! Great song, great message. If you had heard it when it was first released in the late 60's, which I did, I suppose it would have a different impact on you than hearing it now. Everyone has feelings attached to music in relation to what is happening at the time they first heard it.

Even if it isn't the greatest song ever written, the message gets to a lot of people. Sometimes (just sometimes) the lyrics can be more important than the music. What's silly about tolerance?

Agreed, very 'period'. Please do not play too often.

This group put on one of the worst concerts I have ever attended.
