8 -> 9.  Great playing by the band, and her voice is awesome.  I'm in the 'never really cared much for the original' camp, but this cover is tasty.

I never really cared much for this song, but Ms. Parton lends something to it that makes it likeable for me. It goes on too long, though - if she'd kept it short and sweet, it'd be easier to handle repeated listenings.

Actually, I thought this the theme of this song (and its chorus) are perfect for her and this genre. I thought it translated well.

I agree with everything except for the Johnny Cash part, I don't think Cash ever sold out and his remakes were better than the original in most cases. This one does not do it for me either.

Dolly is an underrated gem. Perfectly well-suited bluegrass voice. And, believe me I can reach bluegrass overload but she is true Americana and not in a kitschy way.

I dont listen to Dolly and never have. But I love the person she is, honest and genuine. Definitely talented, but this just doesnt work for me. I just see it as 'doing that thing that Johnny Cash did'. Cashing in.. Sorry, just not feeling this one. 3.
