Yes, the De La Soul song samples the original by the Turtles.  I believe that led to the first case of a hip-hop artist being sued for use of a sample.

I still have mine.
Remember the artwork on the sleeve? It had them all standing naked with appropriately place leaves in certain areas. Mark Volman is not a pretty man with his clothes on, let alone naked.
