I felt the same way when I heard similar comments about Carl Palmer from my all time favorite band ELP.
Then I listened harder, and I heard. BUT, and it's a BIG but, Palmer wrote/played some incredible and innovative stuff, so I give him a pass.

Interesting retro sound, very 'Air' and wah-wah, but I'm guessing it was produced fairly recently from the instrumentation. Cool, in the old-fashioned James Bond/Milk Tray Man/Monte Carlo Playboy sense of the word. An interested 6 from the Nottingham jury.

Drummers have to be really "funky" in order for me to notice them. This tom's man is f-f-funking and flunking and fU**ing all over the place. Beats the funk out of me. However, it is great that not all present day tracks are corrected into sync later on
