I leapt across three or four beds into your arms
Where I had hidden myself somewhere in your charm
Our golden handshake has been smashed into this shape
It's taken magic to a primitive new place
Watch 'em run
Although it's the minimum
Heroic
We hunched together in one chair out on the deck
In snow that froze and fell down on the modern set
It looked as if I picked your name out of a hat
Next thing you know, you are asleep in someone's lap
Watch 'em run
Although it's the minimum
Heroic
We quit the room
Quit so our thoughts could rest
Rest them, I'll never move
That's when we grab ahold
Of whatever it is we fell into
Lousy with your kept time
With what the majestic cannot find
In the business of your lives
The perception, it is wrong
Mile after mile
The phantom taste drinking wine from your heels
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la (We have arrived too late to play the bleeding heart show)
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la (We have arrived too late to play the bleeding heart show)
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la (We have arrived too late to play the bleeding heart show)
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la (We have arrived too late to play the bleeding heart show)
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la (We have arrived)
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la (We have arrived)
Hey-la, hey-la, hey-la, hey-la

| mdnlsn | Posted: Jul 03, 2012 - 14:40 It's Kurt Dahle, also played in Age of Electric and then Limblifter before the Pornographers. I didn't care for AoE, but liked Limblifter a lot, especially their first album. He's one of those few drummers with the ability to seriously transform a song and add emotion without overpowering everything. Yes, indeed! Somebody give that drummer a drink, he's earned it! |

I thik that with the rise of the Internet and the access people have to information, religion is really starting to seem hokey. So, the churches, knowing that they're losing control, are pulling all the stops in a desperate act of survival. |

Jealous of her view of the mountains which are so close. It's still called that! Nothing has really changed in that time (I was married there in 1982, and didn't even have to work very hard to get a reservation.) The road still branches to the left and right, and if you follow it left, you end up at Fort Halleck, and if you follow it right, you end up driving past Rancho Sustacha (that's what I call it - miles of farmland and homesteads, almost all of which belong to the Sustacha family.)The Canyon hasn't changed, either. One can still only drive up to the end of the road. The various hiking trails are there, but if anyone want to go deeper into the canyon, it's hiking or horseback only. Cool that some places are still pristine. This song would have sounded good from the Boy Scout Camp at the base of the glacier... ![]() |

We'd get together on Saturdays for picnics and general goofiness, and one summer Saturday afternoon, a couple of carloads of us drove up Lamoille Canyon, to the boy scout camp, which was nestled at the base of the glacier. It was a gorgeous day - no clouds in the sky and temperatures in the upper seventies. One of the guys had parked his Mustang on a small hill and had cranked the stereo loud. The music echoed through the canyon, and it was as if we'd all been transformed into much better versions of ourselves. Someone began tossing a frisbee, and pretty soon, it was a fully-involved game with leaping, tumbling, and sometimes all-out insanity. The stereo was playing "Feelin' Stronger Every Day." Something about the combination of music and freedom just made the day magical. So much laughter and fun... I'll never forget that day, and even now when I hear that Chicago song, I sit and grin and reminisce... and wish I was 35 years younger. ![]() |
