I love this song, but I keep hearing the bass that enters after the first chorus as playing a "wrong" note on the lower chords. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I find it's most prominent on the "so _just_ give up".

I know Bill catches a little heat for spinning this one a fair amount. I've heard it on RP dozens of times myself and it still it hits me right between the eyes every time I hear it. (Geez...I wrote a very similiar comment not long ago. Down to my last 600 brain cells).

This song always makes me stop what I'm doing and listen.

Saw the movie in a near empty theatre during the day. Playing hooky I think. Shocking in so many ways. I think I went through every emotion with that one. So powerful and heavy, one can only watch it every once in a while.

No doubt. Incredible movie with awesome performances, a great swan song for the late great Jason Robards, and Ms. Mann's elegiac (always wanted to use that word in a sentence), soaring soundtrack fits the whole film like a glove. Wonderful stuff.
