This version is a tribute to Carlos Paredes made by two of his best friends (Luisa Amaro and Miguel Carvalhinho). What they made was a kind of a medley that starts as the original Carlos Paredes song, crosses it with Gershwin's Summertime and return again to the original. The Summertimes notes are not in original song that can be listen here. Carlos Paredes was an humble but genius Portuguese guitar player and composer. He never lived from the wonderful music he made and played. Plagiarize is something that did not fit at all on it's mindset and values. |

"Verdes Anos" (Tender Years) is an original song from 1962, written and performed by musician and composer Carlos Paredes (February 16, 1925 - July 23, 2004), original soundtrack for the film with the same name. Not all that "appears" on the Web is accurate or well founded and grounded on facts. Much of what we read (web) corresponds to opinions, comments, suspicion, personal ideas, some speculation and sensationalism, well, there is something for all tastes. So, beware. Therefore, very careful with the Spanish sites ...or other sites. You, perhaps, you had the 1st contact with the author through the RP, and thank goodness because it is of great significance and prestige to the RP. I practically "born" to hear about this author Carlos Paredes, and others, especially this author that I knew, have all his musical works, there more than 30 years, and unfortunately no longer in existence.
