can anyone explain why French women must sound like little girls when they sing - all whispery and weak?  Compare this with k.d. lang and joni following or even historically with Edith Piaf — what went wrong?

She also sings this song in Spanish, together with Julieta Venegas. Sounds dreadful, compared with this version.

So random..... I was boating with some friends this weekend, one of whom happens to be French, who played this song and I really really enjoyed it. Happy now I know who it is! (there was a bit of alcohol involved and I promptly forgot....) Thanks RP!

Reminds me of Noir Desir's "Le Vent Nous Portera". Both French, both contain some of the same instruments (most notably, the clarinet)...of course, this song is a little more upbeat, but both are quite nice.

I've been to Paris but can barely discern the meaning of French phrases. I believe the title of the album translates to Chocolate Woman. It is a precious musical idea that lies therein.
