| jmsmy (Music Town, Klein, Texas) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:52 Hey everybody this is a really good album. I've been listerning to it a lot since it came out. I really like it. |
| Ag3nt0rang3 (Canada) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:12 A 7 from me, with potential to rise. I'm not as fond of Wonderkind from the same album though. |

So here's my question, do you know how right you are? For example, did you know that she put out an album well before "Jagged Little Pill" that was really, terribly poppy and exploitative and just generally bad? And that before that she was a "star" on a tween comedy show in Canada? I don't know if her management took advantage of her the way you're thinking (she was probably managed by her parents in the earlier parts of her career) but there's no question her talent's been exploited. |

The live version of this track would almost certainly be better; this version seems over-produced. I want to see her shaggy lead guitarist ripping into his music like an over-caffeinated pitbull (click here)... not some Paula Abdul or Michael Jackson number. I like it. I think you are right about the potential of this song live and in person. The dynamics would be huge!! |
| happy4penguins (Former Women's Bathroom) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:08 I'm with you Bill. I kinda like it. 7 > 8 |
| DigitalJer (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:07 sheesh, rough crowd here!! When Loreena McKennitt re-invents her sound (for every album) she's praised, but when Alanis does it, she gets no love at all!! Certainly a change for Alanis...but c'mon - still WAY more mature than her early stuff!! Anyone remember her first pop album? This rises WAY above!! |
| jehahn | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:07 Can't get past her whiny vocal tone. I don't care how much of a departure it is for her. Her voice is less enjoyable than a razor blade on frosted glass. |

| jbtidwell (Atlanta, GA) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:05 Yeah, its a little on the produced side... but this is the first track off this album that sounds like the instrumental part and the singing are for the same song (IMHO). |

| dolfan (Kingsland, Ga./Jacksonville, Fl) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:05 Nope, just too screechy. And Alanis, why the long face? |

| Ericac (Lakeville, MN) | Posted: Jul 18, 2008 - 11:03 Yikes...seems that Alanis and this song really strikes a nerve. I really like the building tension of her songs. The Canadian part is ok too. |

| Excelsior | Posted: Jul 12, 2008 - 05:31 No, please, no!! We had quite enough of her in the 90's. |
| DaWiz (Honolulu, HI) | Posted: Jul 08, 2008 - 21:20 Sorry God, but this is no good. I guess you are not all powerful. The worst part is her voice. And the song. And the music. |

| Droidac (Kitchener, Ontario) | Posted: Jul 03, 2008 - 12:24 andrewimft wrote: Excellent... best thing she's done in a while. Very musical, different, yet spiritual and outrospective.
I like it as well - it's a different sound for her, and I'm not typically a big fan of her music, but I always have an open mind to new music. I don't why there's SO many negative comments though. It seems as though people automatically jump on the "I hate it because it's Alanis" bandwagon. Geez, give it a chance before dissing it! |
| theanniewithin (US) | Posted: Jul 03, 2008 - 12:22 I don't even know what she is saying, it just sounds like she's shouting at me and I have to turn the volume down on this one. |
| bugleboy624 (Bluefield, WV) | Posted: Jul 03, 2008 - 12:21 I like the groove during the chorus. The rest is a bit forgettable. 7 |

So very, very bad. Somebody team this woman up with a decent writer/producer! She's been on a slow, steady decline since her CD with Glen Ballard. This track is so contrived, already dated production-wise and god awful! |
| Misterfixit (Nashville) | Posted: Jun 27, 2008 - 10:29 sharkartist wrote: Nothing new going on with this woman. She still sounds pissed off.
Well now, this is somewhat new material. But yes AM is still very bitter and pissed off. Manipulated by a horny bunch of Manager/Handlers to be sure; her youth and naivety preyed upon until the day she was dumped. She is all better now but still wants to let you know just how angry she really is ... So, Lani, tell really now, how angry are you? |
| smilestoomuch (Mad City, WI) | Posted: Jun 27, 2008 - 10:28 I think what really kills it is the production. It's so perfectly polished that each part loses it character. It ends up goulash. I also think she's borrowed a little too much from her time in India. Works for Loreena McKennitt, not for her. |
| supremo | Posted: Jun 27, 2008 - 10:27 Really? This is Alanis? Seems very different to me. The comparisons to Bond music seem very apt. This is a side of her I didn't know about but I actually like it. |
| jumpback (San Francisco, CA) | Posted: Jun 27, 2008 - 10:26 Oh Alanis... why are you so screechy and angry here? Your Sinead impression just doesn't work.... |
| vit | Posted: Jun 27, 2008 - 10:24 Whew! The playlist was about 30 seconds ahead of the song so I had a chance to switch to the LRC. Thanks for that consideration; it saved me some pain. |
| birdland (Right about....here.) | Posted: Jun 26, 2008 - 21:02 Met her at a an MCA gathering in 1992 for the "Alanis" release. A little bar across from Mewatta Stadium in Calgary. She was 17 I think, about to turn 18. Prior to introductions, the music rep threatened to kill me if I looked sideways at her. I wondered why until I saw her. I remember feeling an incredible sense that this person was a great deal older than the vessel in which she was contained. She has great eyes. It gets a 9 from me for those eyes. |
| Sean-E-Sean | Posted: Jun 26, 2008 - 20:53 ...holy fark is this ever bad!... |

How could I forget about the cacophony???
