Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
I need to laugh
And when the sun is out
I've got something I can laugh about
I feel good
In a special way
I'm in love and it's a sunny day
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
We take a walk
The sun is shining down
Burns my feet as they touch the ground
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Then we lie
Beneath the shady tree
I love her and she's loving me
She feels good (she does)
She knows she's looking fine
I'm so proud to know that she is mine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
Good day, sunshine
(Good day, sunshine)
(Good day, sunshine)
(Good day, sunshine)
(Good day)

Might not like if done by someone other that the Beatles, but that's the point there were so damn good they could take a "granny" tune and deliver it. They would get the harmonies right, figure out where the hooks were and deliver it. Other bands would likely suck doing this and I wouldn't be interested. That was the magic of the Beatles. Though actually this is one of my favorites especially on a nice bright sunny morning or to get the feeling that I am waking up to one. |

I like this tune (and certainly do not need it in order to survive) but I can understand why it wouldn't rate as high as other Beatles' tunes. To a lot of folks, this is one of McCartney's "ditties" - or as Lennon called them "granny tunes". This song doesn't sound unlike a a song one would hear on a children's television program. Really listen to this song objectively, as if for the first time, and figure how many people would like this if it were done by anyone other than The Beatles? |

| stub30 (East Wenatchee) | Posted: May 06, 2010 - 11:29 As young kids we (my brothers (two) and sister) loved to sing along with all the Beatles albums we owned. I thought I had a good voice, but little did I know (but everybody else did), my voice was changing (more like cracking). One day I was singing along to "Good Day Sunshine" and recording it at the same time. Little did I know but my mother took the tape with my singing on it, recorded a long letter to her brother who was serving in Vietnam and sent it to him. I was absolutely mortified! But the way I look at it, I must have been a great morale booster to all of the men and women who were serving over there. I swear I could hear the laughter all the way back in the states! |

As someone who has played MANY a Beatle song, I agree with you. VERY complex songs, not easily learned. People who aren't musicians shouldn't judge whether something is easy or hard to play. They haven't a clue. |
| e_b (Michigan) | Posted: Feb 18, 2009 - 13:38 There should be no more than 1 or 2 songs on any of the Beatles LP's that rate lower than an 8—this isn't one of them. As overplayed as they are, they set the bar. |

And that is why The Beatles are rightfully so highly regarded and why most people, many rock critics and other well known musicians say as even Ozzy Osbourne says,Were The Greatest Band To Ever Walk The Earth!
