| zair99 (In Cognito) | Posted: Dec 16, 2012 - 02:49 Hahaha, I think I'm getting to know RP user ratings pretty well. I was trying to guess what the rating of this would be prior to looking, and I guessed "4.8" and I was SO close. 4.9. Myself I'll have to give it a 3. It's just too poppy and overproduced. Not to mention a bit cheesy. |

| KaiT (Toronto Canada) | Posted: Oct 14, 2012 - 09:20 I love the sound of world beats and instruments. Ordinarily I would like something like this but unfortunately, this is a colossal cacophony of wasted talent. |
| Whirlpool (Nowhere Important) | Posted: Sep 15, 2012 - 22:04 Ugh. Get some new songs in rotation. |
| skibbenr (halifax, ns, canada) | Posted: Sep 12, 2012 - 19:59 love the world music fusion. Play more like this Bill! Nitin Sawhney, Afro Celt, Miriam and Amadou,Basia Bulat, Asif Avida and more. There's lots of great music outside our borders |
| joelbb | Posted: Sep 12, 2012 - 19:56 Sucky-o? You got that right. A solid 2 at best. |

| oldsaxon (Wales via Vancouver, BC.) | Posted: Aug 24, 2012 - 11:43 I am, apparently, in the minority, but I like it. Clever people doing clever music. World music with an edge, why not? I think all the haters need to chill a bit and listen more, but that's just me. |

Dileep Kumar) This photo was taken on July 13, 2010 using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. 8+ ——————————————————————————————————————— Allah Rakha Rahman, 46 years old, is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist and philanthropist. He plays guitar, percussion, drums, harpejji, continuum fingerboard, keyboard, piano, accordion, goblet drum, concert harp and vocals. Just to remind. Rahman is involved in various charitable causes. In 2004, he was appointed as the Global Ambassador of the Stop TB Partnership, a project by WHO. He has shown support to charities including Save the Children, India, and worked with Cat Stevens for his song "Indian Ocean". He participated in dozens of Film Original score, Original Soundtracks, and in his personal discography, has done 15 Music-sudio-albuns. It was one of the drivers, and part of the amazing project "SuperHeavy". He composed the original song "Mahiya", "Satyameva Jayathe" in collaboration with Marley / Stone, "SuperHeavy" with Marley / Stone.Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, A. R. Rahman. It is nevertheless interesting that a band like "Superheavy" before being a reality as it is today, it would be quite unthinkable and unlikely to happen with the huge diversity and artistic sensibilities of the musicians that comprise it, but the truth is what happened, and therein lies, perhaps to prove that anything is possible in music, since there is the will and determination. It is the "miracle" of music. And thankfully, I say. |

Not a huge favourite, but I find it more accessible than the other tracks I've heard from this album. I agree. The others I've heard are fine. Nothing too exciting. This is a notch above that and easy to like on the first listen. That's not always a good thing but I think it'll settle at a 7 for me. I'll give it an 8 for now just because I enjoyed it more than most of my 7s. |

"World music" is the vast majority of music produced on the planet - music from anglo-saxon cultures is in the minority, despite its media dominance. Would you have written "generic american music", say? Me, I like ol' Rubberlips' mash-ups in this experimental album, and as a fan of Bhangra this one really gets my toes tapping (and, if I weren't in the cube farm, my arms waving). It's also very RP. 8 from the swaying Nottingham jury. |
