At first flash of Eden, we race down to the sea
Standing there on freedom's shore
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Can you feel it, now that spring has come?
That it's time to live in the scattered sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting for you to come along
Waiting for you to hear my song
Waiting for you to come along
Waiting for you to tell me what went wrong
This is the strangest life I've ever known
Yeah!
Can't you feel it, now that spring has come?
That it's time to live in the scattered sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the sun

| hatechris (Boston) | Posted: Jun 27, 2012 - 14:16 This may not make sense but I like everyone BUT Jim in the DOORS. He's just so obnoxious and drunk and WAY overrated as a writer. |

| countyman (Pittsburgh) | Posted: Mar 08, 2012 - 05:55 In my opinion, an over rated band. |

| johnjconn (chicago land) | Posted: Oct 17, 2011 - 19:09 one of the few 60's bands that aged well. Still sounds fresh |

| unclehud (300 feet above the planet) | Posted: Jul 15, 2011 - 11:46 These guys, musically, were WAY ahead of their time. Morrison's poetry ... well, I like it a lot. As for the haters, we're "waiting, waiting, waiting for you to come along; waiting, waiting, waiting for you to hear my song." Not just listen to my song — hear my song. |
| BigIslandBlues | Posted: Jun 29, 2011 - 14:48 Wow, the sun just came out on an otherwise cloudy day.....hmmmm. |

| alph (Honolulu) | Posted: Mar 11, 2011 - 02:18 Morrison's screaming in the middle of this song is absolutely terrifying. |
| SweTex (Swede living in Texas) | Posted: Feb 23, 2011 - 09:00 Agreeing with some of the recent posts here...This bands music has not aged well. |

I'm sure they were remarkable for their time but the sound just doesn't hold up... not like Zeppelin or the Stones or even Black Sabbath. I have to agree. I got into all of these bands about the same time. In high school of course many guys thought they wanted to be Jim Morrison. But then we grow up. While the Doors do have some great songs, this is an example of overly simplistic and repetitive lyrics, and music that fails to impress. I'll take a good riff from any of the above bands over this any day. |

| ick (S.E. La Jolla) | Posted: Aug 17, 2010 - 14:12 Man, does this remind me of my early 20's living in LA and trying to find the psychedelia in a grungy early 90's world... the results were kinda disturbing. |

| kurtster (Area code 216) | Posted: Jun 30, 2010 - 16:26 Ground breaking stuff. Not necessarily a stand alone great song unless you really like it in the first place. But when played with the rest of the album side in context it might sound better, unless you don't like the Doors at all, then never mind ... |
