Well, if you had heard the long version, you would vote for the short version.  It just breaks down into someone sampling the song then playing it back in stutters.  It ruins the flow of the song and gets obnoxious.  And it goes on and on and on.

I really like the song and the album as a whole, but the "extended remix" part of that song has got to go.

Soo TRUE!

Unfortunately the majority of the "mundane and forgettable" tend to be the groups with a female lead... not to hate but they just don't seem to be very interesting. There are plenty of very good bands with women on vocals but all to often the ones played here feel forced... like there is some unknown quota to balance out the male voices.... Again, nothing wrong with great music no matter who is singing, it just seems like some are played just for variety sake (not because they are very good)

You haven't gone and compiled an inventory of "mundane and forgettable" groups, have you?  I can think of a great many artists who would qualify, which feature male lead vocals, and I have probably forgotten many more (which is often the innate problem with forgettable things).  I don't think those dubious qualities are dictated by the gender of the singer.  The amount of airplay of certain artists may be determined by gender in some markets - though not likely here.  I don't find Poe to be mundane or forgettable, but it's all subjective anyhow.

One wonders. A number of posters (no, not poseurs!) have noted that you are wrong about Poe's not writing her material. Does anyone ever cop to being wrong around here? And the dishonesty part? Explain please.

A completely ignorant post. Who's the poseur? This comment regarding a song off a concept album about the lose of her father. Weak.

She has songwriting credits on every track on Hello and all but two tracks on Haunted (one of which is a remix of a song she did write) so I'm not really sure why you said that.

I have no idea. I find her endlessly fascinating, and this album is in my top 25 albums of all time. She's now past her legal troubles with her former record company, and is tentatively making a comeback (ie, playing live shows again for charity, getting more of an online presence...) I hope this bodes well for new music from her soon.

She's not dishonest in this album, which was written after her father died and is one of the most moving albums I've ever listened to. Packed full of emotion with songs written from the heart. I rarely weep but I blubbed at the end of Haunted. An extraordinary album. 8 from the lachrymose Nottingham jury for this song, 10 for the CD.
