One of the most awkward conversations I've ever had with my mother was trying to explain the Flaming Lips to her.  I may have well been speaking Greek.  Of course, she doesn't really listen to music.

I have this random bootleg of the Lips performing stuff from Zaireeka at a small club somewhere. Before they start playing you can hear a lone, persistent voice calling out from the back of the venue, "Turn It On!"

i was in the fox holes with these guys back in the '40s, we would call up the captain and ask him for a pool table to be flown in, with leveling capability in the trenches. it was awful difficult fying it in with the helicopter, then setting it up in the dirt--boy those were some days.

I used to hang with these guys in the '70s. They were totally impossible to deal with. Tell you one thing, do another, sleep with your girlfriend, kick your dog, steal your grandmother's government cheese.
