Yeah, well I see the album cover; I hear her sing that she's a natural in the dark, in the dark; and I can imagine how that voice sounds in the dark; and "little suicides" may refer to self inflicted "little deaths"; and yes, I am also a child.

But I heard something different tonight: "If I forgive you that, then I give in all the time.  I'm just a little tired today; tomorrow you'll be fine.  All these little suicides, they hardly bear remark."  I was married for 25 years, and I understand.

I bought this CD from a record store (Silver Platters) back in 97 or 98, and the packaging included a black band wrapped around the middle, under the cellophane. I thought it was pretty ridiculous.  Little kids can see more in the National Geographic magazine in the doctor's office.....

Is there something off about this song or is it just me? In some portions she appears to be singing a bit off-key, while the instruments are too loud or the beat is behind her or something.

Now, see, there's a MASSIVE difference between government-mandated censorship and community-agreed-upon censorship, and I'm a little annoyed you made that leap. It wouldn't even have to be censorship for all users; it could be a simple profile option for individual users "hide flagged album art", similar to Google SafeSearch.

I am allowed to listen to internet radio, and to a limited extent surf the web at work. Images like that one are right out.

The album tends to follow (maybe 'wallow in' for some) this general ambience. I heard this on RP and, having Amoeba Music available within walking distance, was able to pick this up for about $3. Worth it.

Yesterday, I heard this song on RP. It was the first time I heard "Little Suicides" since I was in High School.

For me, it was interesting to listen to it, with the perspective of a 31 year old and interpret it completely differently than how I did at 18.

I've been humming and singing the refrain since.

Time is interesting.

I like a lot of GP music, along with Lori Carson solo work. but my wife hates it. we like it and hate it for the same reasons. for me, Carson's breathy vocal style is kind of mystical. for my wife, Carson's breathy vocal style, and others like her, are just, well, breathy.
