Oddly enough, this song's lyrics describe my reaction to the song itself:

"It's just the way that he sings
Not the words that he says"

Without the cavernous reverb, this guy would sound like Christopher Cross.

Release date seems to be incorrect?  Allmusic shows Jun 5, 2001.  Still surprises me to see that this album is going on 12 years old!!  I only heard it when I first began listening to RP in 2007, so it's only 5 years old to me!  {#Wink}  still love it

I just admire the name of the Band, conjours up all sortsof images for me, a great harmonic sound and maybe the attraction is from previous posts in that they have a 60's sound. Altogether a must buy.

This one does get played quite a bit, but I don't know if it would have become one of my favorite MMJ songs otherwise. Some songs need several plays before they put the hook in you...Bill has a sixth sense for songs like these. Of course some songs are overplayed, but those happen to be songs I don't like!

Give it a shot! Uploading songs does not make you a pest, it makes you paradise head. {#Roflol} I don't even know what that means...
Ball & Chain?  As in Janis?  Give it a go, love to see how someone else handles a Janis song.   {#Propeller}

Well, I for one like this.  I'm a bit disappointed that it's not the version on the Okonokos album, which seems less passionate, almost like they were near the end of the set and getting tired.  But it' still nice.

Nice follow-up to Echo and the Bunnymen Bill. I think the first time I heard one of their songs, I thought Neil Young was singing for EATB. Since your in the Echo and the Bunny sound groove, are you following this with Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons?{#Tongue}

If there is ever a RadioParadise: The Album - I would think that this would have to make the track list.  I'm not complaining, but I feel like we hear either the live or studio version of the song daily.  Not a bad thing, but worth noting.

Also on the CD: Under the Milky Way, Down In The Flood, Little Bird, that brutal The Fray song, Transatlanticism
