I agree. Their version is cool. The Turtles sound really dated to me most of the time.

i bought this on a 45 single back in day and i still have it! the slip cover has the group posing naked with leaves covering the correct spots. not a very pretty sight.

This was a very unique melody for the times and a precursor to alot of the progressive, moody music to follow. Listen to it again, and remember how long ago it was written. It is truly a classic, much overlooked.

Eureka! I thought I recognized the hook in Supreme Beings of Leisure. I agree that this is a more pure application of it. Sounds better here than there.
