Well crafted, mellowly melodic, lyrically wondrous. This song reaches in and soothes all my bad places. Iron & Wine & Win.

This cat is the best of the "New Wimps" of the 21st century.
His tortured vocals far surpass anyone from the long list of whiney male songwriters.

Great album but this is not one of the best tracks, IMO.

Actually driven by the drumming of Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz's ex ) the music in the current crop of VW's commercials has some edge to it. Totally unlike the banality of I/W.

I started off liking I&W when I first heard them on RP.  I find, sadly, that I like them less and less each time I hear them. {#Sad}

So THIS is that song they used to conclude that episode of "House" last year ... the producers must be listening to RP.

It was actually quite effective in the episode — and I usually think music in TV shows sucks.

You can have mine. I bought several of their albums several months ago, and quickly stopped listening. This is not music that grows on you, it just grows tiresome. I think it's the whispery, aspirated style of singing that's at fault. There's not enough energy to sustain interest over the long haul. Plus the melodies are essentially very bland and characterless.

Couldn't disagree more ... I thought they were bland and characterless when I first heard them, now it's the complete opposite. Plus, the lyrics are getting more ... interesting - check his latest record, the one with 'Jezebel' on it

Let's talk. PM me. I assume I can still get albums at pre-Soviet breakup prices, right? Back in 1988, a good friend brought me back Paul McCartney's live album that he bought in Poland for..oh, I think $1.10, maybe.

Quite likebale...and likeable, to me. As meloman says, gets tiresome to a point, yet I still like it. Oh, what to do?

For what it's worth, this record is a real grower.

Beautiful music ...

Iron and Wine fills a void I didn't even knew exsisted in my music world. So mellow and affective. "In my Lady's House" from the new Woman King EP is just an amzaing song. Sing on Sam!
