Plays bass, rhythm, melody and percussion all at the same time on one guitar. you've got to see it in person to believe it. Great show. Short clip of one of his songs earlier that day. Tall Fiddler First heard this song on RP as my introduction to Tommy Emmanuel. Wrote down the name of the song and looked him up when I heard it. That happens a lot on RP, Thanks Bill |

I see people talk about missing the 'relates-to-me...' touch in his music -that's the same reason I can't listen to Malmsteen or Satriani - well, that's why there are many genres of music (you can't expect much of these with, let's just say, ambiental music). It's not 'designed' to summon these emotions. I don't listen to to his music on daily bases too, but being a guitarist myself, I bow to the guy - 10.  |

In a way Tommy has those songs that simply show off his unparalleled technical mastery (this song is an example, as well as "Guitar Boogie") and those songs that bring a level of feeling, emotion, and simple joy in the music. These brought my wife (a hip hop and R & B listener, mostly) to tears.
