Funny, I went to this page to say the exact same thing. Guess I have to go out and get this cd (which I believe also features a cover of the Beatles "I Need You")

I like the Steve Earle rendition better. This just sounds too thin and contrived...or something.

IMHO great song as done by Steve Earl. Her voice is a little too chipmunk like for me.

Bill should play the Steve Earle version. It rocks! I only gave this version a 5.

LOVE the song (as done by Steve Earle), not too keen on the singer.

Guitarists--don't let this happen to you. Supress the urge to end songs with spastic strumming.

Ever since I saw her open up for Neil Young on his "Harvest Moon" tour I have been a fan of hers. I mean how can you not ...after such a magical night as that was. It was a beautiful harvest full moon night in an outdoor venue in Indianapolis. Just her and her guitar singing, so beautifully, so captivatingly. It was a perfect match to Neil in one of his acoustic phases with just him his guitars and banjo's etc. I had to find out who that gal was. That week Rolling Stone had a small article covering her “Fat City” release and so I started spreading the word as much as possible and until that “Sunny...” song came out and then is was hard to get away from hearing her. I was no longer needed to champion her “cause”. But still... I like thinking back to that cool September night when I was blown away and it seemed like no one had ever heard of her.Edited By 3Dave at 9:30 am on 2/05/2003

Music, nowadays, often sounds so 'calculated', so it's moving to listen to someone still singing straight from the heart. Even more so, 'cause she's got such a wonderful, bright voice.
