The music upload function allows you to upload MP3 files for consideration by Radio Paradise. We don't facilitate the downloading or trading of music. All files uploaded will be used for review and broadcast purposes only -- they will not be distributed under any circumstances.

No Holiday music, please. We're avoiding it again this year.

Files should be encoded at 256kbps or higher - and sampled at 44.1kHz Please don't take lower bitrate files and "re-encode" them at higher bitrates. That will actually reduce the quality of the file, not increase it. Likewise, converting files ripped from CDs from the standard 44.1kHz sample rate to 48kHz does not improve sound quality - and causes a bunch of problems for us.

We can accept files at 192kbps if necessary, or VBR files with an average bitrate of 192kbps or higher - but we strongly prefer CBR files at 256kbps or 320kbps. VBR files encoded with certain software tools will be rejected even though their bitrate is high enough (due to a bug in our system). At this point the only cure is to re-encode them as CBR files.

Also, please don't upload entire CDs -- pick the best two or three tracks by the artist. If we add them, you can send more. After upload you will have a chance to edit artist and title information as well as add notes.

We now have a limit of 10 uploads at a time per person (no more than 3 by the same artist). After that, you'll need to wait until at least some of your uploaded songs have been reviewed before you can upload more.

NOTE: It may take quite a while (as long as 10 minutes or more) for anything to happen after you click the "Upload" button on the popup window. Be patient. Go make some tea or something. Don't reload or close the popup window or you'll abort the upload.
