Thanks, man! This is one of those songs that was much more alive when they did it in concert.

People, don't hate them; respect them. These guys are/were geniuses. They figured out how to make money off of stoned hippies.

"Touch of Grey" is a horrible song. This is incredibly mellow, but at least I can listen to it without screaming and pulling my hair out.

So far...some of the members of GD have followed suit with the album title. At least I think they went upward.

Good memories from back in the day. Had a couple of 'special' plants Althea and Bertha named after Grateful Dead songs. They definitely enhanced some of the road trips to see the Dead!

Great song!!! If it said Clapton played everyone would love it. I love it that the haters can't see a joke when it smacks them in the face! Seriously,is it so hard to understand the joke when a "psychedelic" band puts out an album with disco themed cover art ?

...and, duh, "the Dead" Go to Heaven....uh, get it?

Go RP!

I think it's more important to not let the mindless, drug induced acceptance of this band continue any further.

I'll give the Deadheads their due - they were / are loyal almost to a fault.  I just never got it myself.  The Dead sound like that teenage garage band down the street practicing on Sunday afternoon - cluttered, uninspiring, and downright boring.

Thank you radio Paradise, for this Christmas treat! Althea is one of my most special songs, along with Terrapin Station. It holds a very special place in this long time Deadhead's heart. This album version, while not as "hot" as the live versions, is very much appreciated. No other band has the capacity to move me in the way that the Dead does- not even close. The folks who THINK they don't like the dead should really get OFF the studio albums and check out the live recordings— the Dead are NOT a studio group. :)

LMAO

You may be Saturday's child all grown
Moving with a pinch of grace
You may be a clown in the burial ground
Or just another pretty face
You may be the fate of Ophelia
Sleeping and perchance to dream
Honest to the point of recklessness
Self-centered to the extreme

Werd.  Not nearly as good as many live versions I've heard (of course) but since it's the representative sample here, quite strong.
