Agreed, If I had submitted this to the LRC, it surely would have been rejected.
Long live Big Al. |
| oufason (Dallas, TX) | Posted: Feb 14, 2008 - 12:33 This would fall into the 'novelty' catagory. |
| ThePoose | Posted: Feb 14, 2008 - 12:33 Funny, I keep seeing furry beards, furry guitars and sunglasses. |

| chyk5 (Florida) | Posted: Feb 14, 2008 - 12:31 This is just wrong. |
| Misterfixit (Nashville) | Posted: Dec 13, 2007 - 15:34 With a couple more tattoos that gal on the cover would be an Amy Winehouse twin ... Huuummmm, maybe with some more crack breath too ... other than that ... this swing version is -- "inventive" ... |
| BalesBub (Boston) | Posted: Nov 12, 2007 - 06:03 Wow! I didn't know that this song could actually sound worse! |
| Misterfixit (Nashville) | Posted: Nov 12, 2007 - 06:00 Great group but ZZ Top is rolling around writhing in agony. |
| missquo (Austin, TX) | Posted: Oct 11, 2007 - 20:06 Wow, 8.5 on da radio... nice, nice. i saw these guys play in my freshman dorm at UT... not with this singer of course... they never recovered from that IMO... |
| DoctorHooey (/etc) | Posted: Oct 11, 2007 - 20:04 This is an ok song and all, but to think RP plays this and NOT NRBQ is just a shame. |

| heyjoe3577 (Seattle) | Posted: Jul 09, 2007 - 11:18 The cover (art) tells me that the cover (song) sucks. |

ZZ Top was popular way, way before mullets took hold of the small brains of the airwaves. This song sucks, by the way. Crapola of the highest order. |
| electronicthroat (The South) | Posted: Jul 09, 2007 - 11:03 When I was little I thought they were saying "Shotgun Man". I just thought women were crazy about guys that rode shotgun. hahaha |
| DoctorHooey (/etc) | Posted: Jul 09, 2007 - 11:02 Great cover!! Her voice isn't the best, but this is still pretty inspired. |
| lionirons (Portland, Maine) | Posted: Jul 09, 2007 - 11:02 A seamless transition, Bill! |
| bobrk (Beautiful Downtown San Jose) | Posted: May 07, 2007 - 17:26 I'd rather have a girl with a voice like that sing me this song than a bunch of guys in long beards, that's for sure. Great album cover, too. |
| ArbiterOfGoodTaste (Seattle, WA) | Posted: May 07, 2007 - 17:25 This sounds like the generic bar singer in the generic bar in the generic buddy movie. |
| jadewahoo (...to the sounds of Creation) | Posted: Mar 05, 2007 - 21:18 It was my looking for an internet station that would play this song that got me to RP! Yeah! Smooth, sultry, jazzy. |
| algrif (Slightly west of Zero) | Posted: Feb 03, 2007 - 04:17 My guess is that this would get much better reviews if ZZ had never done it. |

Very adult contemporary stuff. |
| eskles | Posted: Jan 19, 2007 - 13:21 I guess it states my opinion of ZZ Top when I say I prefer this over ZZ's, and I rate this a 4 (maybe 3). |
| denmom (Connecticut) | Posted: Jan 19, 2007 - 13:20 Don't much care for the original, but I care for this even less. Blech. |

It's one of the greatest rock/blues tunes ever, and it does not deserve this punishment! yikes. i agree. if you want to hear it, listen to the original! so much better. |
| fredriley (Nottingham, UK) | Posted: Dec 21, 2006 - 10:35 cobalt789 wrote: Please, please, please...don't play this again!
It's one of the greatest rock/blues tunes ever, and it does not deserve this punishment! Yep, I'd second that - nowt can beat ZZ Top's original, and certainly not an over-jazzed 'sophisto' version of it. Mind you, The Hamsters (http://www.thehamsters.co.uk/), a great live UK band, do a good version which closely follows the zip and burn of the original. |
| FilmSurgeon (Los Angeles, CA) | Posted: Dec 21, 2006 - 10:33 Silly. But not in a good way... |
| meydele (By the sea) | Posted: Nov 22, 2006 - 06:41 I can't believe so many people hated this . . . It cracked me up when I first heard it and it cracks me up now. Much like Richard Cheese's covers do. Very amusing. |

| jasonv | Posted: Nov 07, 2006 - 16:25 I normally have no patience for those who can't stand remakes on principal, but this is not good. Please, no more. |
| Marr (Houston (dreaming of Austin)) | Posted: Oct 09, 2006 - 09:38 I'm sad to hear that they broke up. THey were still together and having a great time when last I called Austin home (though I still do in my mind). |

| Old_Pool_Skunk (Get Out) | Posted: Jun 28, 2006 - 21:03 Not so bad... but messin with ZZ isn't adviseable. |
| squidish (under the sea) | Posted: May 30, 2006 - 15:58 Is this the band that goes through singers like used underwear, or am I thinking of someone else? They sound different than they used to. |
