![]() Feats Don't Fail Me Now (1974) [ larger cover art ] |
George-Martin
There was a woman in Georgia, didn't feel just right
She had the fever all day and chills at night
Now things got worse, yes a serious bind
At times like this it takes a man with a style I cannot often find
A doctor of the heart and a doctor of mind.
If you like country with a boogie beat, he's the man to meet
If you like the sound of shufflin' feet, he can't be beat
If you wanna feel real nice, just ask the rock and roll doctor's advice.
It's just a country town but patients come
From Mobile to Moline from miles around
Nagodoches to New Orleans
In beat-up old cars or in limousines
To meet the doctor of soul, he's got his very own thing.
Two degrees in be-bop, a PHD in swing
He's the master of rhythm, he's a rock and roll king, yeah.
If you like country with a boogie beat, he's the man to meet (he's the man to meet)
If you like the sound of shufflin' feet, he can't be beat (I say he can't be beat)
If you... if you wanna... if you wanna feel real nice, just ask the rock and roll doctor's advice.

| ozzie1313 | Posted: Dec 11, 2011 - 17:03 Saw Little Feat a bunch of time with Lowell George and only twice with Craig Fuller. I loved Pure Prairie League and saw them a few times. But I just couldn't get into Fuller in Little Feat. George went to Join Zappa in the big hereafter way too early. |
| Philo (Manchester, England) | Posted: Dec 09, 2011 - 23:47 Great tune. Reminds me of the old BBC 70's music show "Old Grey Whistle Test". Great show. probably had the New York Dolls on after the Little Feat boys. . |

Of course someone will notice, you will have made someone smile in a grey office cube somewhere and make them realise they have wasted their life and have them stand up and shout "I'm not going to take this any more!" and walk out to a new existence. |

Gotta agree. I saw them at the Armadillo World Headquarters in '74. Definitely the best live performance I had been to up to that time, even with the lousy acoustics of the AWH, and maybe the best since. |
