woo-hoo! If I'm on the road it makes my foot step on this gas when young Ginger-haired Van really belts out this timeless beauty!

Screaming gloria? That's what it's about, and it's Van the Man, so...

And you know something?  50 years later we are now taking group selfie photos like that on the cover - from above looking down.

Ha!

far out.. he did a damn good job on singing that. Guitar work absolutely crap but he nailed it and didn't give a shit about the mistakes. that was pretty cool.

Nowadays it's more likely that teenage salesgirls use lines like that when you dare to interrupt them doing whatever they are doing on their IPhone.

Such a great 60's garage band song: easy to figure out, easy lead section, don't have to sing well, 'racy' lyrics

I don't like this song so much that I thought it was by Creedance Clearwater Revival. Blech.

I never "GOT" him. Hated him after I met him through work.  He actually used the line, "Don't you know who I am?"  to a teenage salesgirl.

I am proud to say I saw Van at THE Armadillo Word Headquarters, Austin, TX back in 1973 I think it was. Okay, he is a GOD to me but I think you are just yanking a chain here. He has so much more than this... Into the Mystic comes to mind

JUST SHOOT YOURSELF AND MAKE IT GO AWAY. YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T GET IT THEN, OR NOW.

Ha. My inability to 'get it then, or now' offers no reason to "shoot myself". Offering an opinion that is contrary to yours really shouldn't be a springboard for you to advertise your immaturity. I appreciate that you disagree with me...but could you please just try keeping the bar higher on this forum without the added "middle school", knee-jerk reactionary comments? By the way, you don't have to shout...I can hear you perfectly well.

I think I dislike every possible attempt at this repetitive and mediocre tune. This one features an out of tune bass guitar. Yippee. As I was once in a cover band playing this song...its really a feat of boredom. It's more fun to play live to an adoring crowd than it is to listen here on RP.
