Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull, aching pain
Now you've decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Can make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried
Let's do some living after we die
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses, we'll ride them someday
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses, we'll ride them someday
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn't drag me away

Hopefully there is a full-length studio album some time in the future. |

Anyhow, I recall that the previous album "A Bigger Bang", no song is currently in airplay playlist, and the last song of this album, "Back of My Hand" was played here on Nov 22, 2006 - 18:55. And the song more "punctuated" (what's with subjective and random the "scores" here) was "Rain Fall Down" with a magnificent score of 6.5. Discrepancies. For the record the statistics. |

| rdo (DC) | Posted: Feb 04, 2012 - 12:24 I don't think I have ever commented on a RS song. I just checked, the only 10 I have recorded for them is Ruby Tuesday, and I feel I was being generous in that case. They are good, solid music. Not very daring in my opinion. I go for daring, exciting, progressive. I have to say they are over-rated though. Sorry. Let the pillory begin. |

Is it Jagger or Richards? I know both get the "by" line, but who is the creative force? Different songs lead to different answers. e.g.Brown Sugar is generally attributed (by Keith himself) to Mick, while Gimmee Shelter is Keith's. And, shockingly, being a song-writing team, many were done together....to varying degrees of course.Every time I've asked this all I hear is Richards created the guitar rif and Jagger put the structure together. What's the story? |

According to Keith's autobiography "Life" ( a must-read for even the casual Stones fan). Mick brought in the phrase "Wild Horses couldn't drag me away" and according to Keith the rest "just flowed" out of the two of them. As another poster said, Keith was spending a lot of time with Gram Parsons at the time, so I'm sure that influenced the sound. But according to Keith, all of their biggest songs were written together. Typically Keith would come up with some little bit, like the riff or a chorus or phrase, and hand it to Mick for fleshing out. Keith was the idea man, Mick was the finisher. Again, great great book! |
