Had a pint with them in a pub next door to the gig venue in 1982. Nice lads. 'New Life' was never bettered.

Totally fulfilling. Thank you, RP!
Still on the DM countdown for their new album release and 2013 tour. Chills!

I like the instrumental breaks in this song. Rather powerful overall. Not a HUGE fan of everything...but I do like this very much!

Because, strangely enough, DM are exponents of Goth, or rather electro-goth. Their depressive, agonised lyrics replete with religious imagery and themes are distinctively Goth, as Goth as the Sisters or the Neph but with a poppy danceable beat. To my shame I dismissed them in the 80s as disposable electro-pop and have only got into them properly in recent years, not uncoincidentally when I started listening to RP. So thanks to RP for helping me rediscover this group. An easy 9 from the (closet Goth) Nottingham jury.

I have to say that I'm always sort of amazed at the love Depeche Mode gets around RP. Though I'm not a fan, well, more power to 'em.{#Whistle}

Is it just a rumor that they were attached at the head prior to a surgical separation? Was it successful ? Are they signifying how many times in their life the got laid ? I'm always surprised how well Depeche Mode holds up over time compared to other music that I liked at that time. You can't deny that it's great stuff. I like it almost as much now as I did back then.

I was about to say that it was rather cruel of Bill to place Depeche Mode after Pink Floyd, but this song has more legs than I originally gave it credit for.
