She's done a ton of great work (Roses In The Snow and Red Dirt Girl to name two) but, when it's all tallied up, I believe Wrecking Ball will stand as her masterpiece.  Nary a dud on the whole LP.

Agree completely. The first time I heard a track from this on RP, i went in search of the CD and found it in a bargain bin (for shame!). I've worn it out ever since.

Really? I think it's a bass guitar. And it is one of the main reasons I really love this song.

Even though I'm not a devout Christian, this would be nice to hear when I'm about to die.

Now every time I hear this I'm gonna picture a drone flying around the studio.  {#Smile}

Love listening to ELH, especially when her voices get into the range when she sounds like bells ringing.  This song, for one.

It's been said before, but bares repeating - check the original by Julie (and Buddy) Miller.  I love this song and the whole CD but can only give it a 7 because I need room to rank the original version even higher

Loved her then, like her better now that her voice has dropped a half-octave and gained  depth.  (pun not intended)
