Son, she said, have I got a little story for you
What you thought was your daddy was nothin' but a
While you were sittin' home alone at age thirteen
Your real daddy was dyin'
Sorry you didn't see him
But I'm glad we talked
Oh, I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey, I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey, I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey, oh
Oh, she walks slowly, across a young man's room
She said I'm ready for you
I can't remember anything to this very day
'Cept the look, the look
Oh, you know where
Now, I can't see, I just stare
I, I'm still alive
Hey, I, but, I'm still alive
Hey, I, boy, I'm still alive
Hey, I, I, I'm still alive, yeah
Oo
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh
Is something wrong? she said
Well, of course, there is
You're still alive, she said
Oh, and do I deserve to be?
Is that the question?
And if so, if so, who answers? who answers?
I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey, I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey, I, but, I'm still alive
Yeah, I, oh, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Wow, uh-huh
Yeah, uh-huh
Oh, wow, uh-huh
Yeah, uh-huh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh
Oh

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that Byronape is an American male of a certain generation - now aged between 30 and 50. Many many of that brood, were either pre-teens, teens or college kids when this came out. They were inclined toward hard rock and they found in Pearl Jam (and a few others) hard rock with intelligence and meaning made for their generation - as opposed to the music of Stones, the Who and Zeppelin (and others) - which was made for my generation. I have witnessed many of these men at every one of the many Pearl Jam concerts I have attended and see how this band moves them profoundly and means so much to their psyche. |

Because I suspect the number is very high. Because I hope RP takes it out of the rotation, or at least only plays it once a year. I have heard it enough. I gave it a 10, though it is not genius. Black is genius, and also overplayed. |

Those passing fashion statements have nothing to do with music. That would be the marketing aspect of rock-n-roll. Let's not inject that nonsense into the discussion, please. These guys are and were great, but we hear them way too much. |

For your response, I'll stop whining for, uh, one whole song.
I'd be interested to see the number of PSD hits on this one.
