WEEN!!  I wonder if these guys will ever get recognized for their clever lyrics and compositions.  Even though alot of their music has easily recognized influences, they do an incredible job of making it their own.  And then again, some of their stuff is just bizarre. They have a huge catalog of songs and so much of it is great.  Where's the props??

You still don't. Ween is the most chameleonic 6 or 7 bands I've ever heard. :)

Some further examples would be "Dr. Rock," "Banannas and Blow," "Ice castles," and "God In my Bed."

I think they got typecast a little with the success of "Waving My Dick in the Wind" and before that :"Pushing Little Daisies". Those songs would be the most famous (in the broader sense) Ween songs got a fair bit of play on radio when they were released and so nowdays when the name Ween is thrown about, those songs come to mind.

And so it makes it difficult when presented with a song as diverse as this to comprehend - this is the same band.

what is amusing is how convincing they are, any genre they pick up (of which there are dozens), they seem to fit right in, the whole time making fun of whatever they sound like. It's not imitation, it's mocking. But a friendly, respectful mocking. If you can understand that.
PLAY MORE BIZARRE WEEN SONGS!!!

Couldn't agree more. This reminds me of my dear dead friend, Eric, who forced ween upon me. A lot of people seem to think of them as a "novelty act", but there's much more.
Please play "the Argus" off the new album.
